Chapter 17 ~ Thanksgiving

Luna's POV

After the incident during our decoration shopping, Levi kept a close eye out whenever we went somewhere. I was still a little confused, but I trusted him. Now we were cooking the morning of Thanksgiving while the TV played in the background.

"When should she be here?" I asked, referring to Kuchel.

"Around 11." Levi answered. We decided to cook a variety of foods, a lot of our favorites. After a couple more hours, everything was finally ready and the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it." I hurried to the door. I opened it to reveal Mikasa, Eren and their parents, who I had met earlier. "What are you all doing here?" I smiled.

"Since Mikasa's directly related to Levi, we figured we could have a somewhat family Thanksgiving." Mrs. Jaeger smiled.

"Did you know about this?" I asked Levi. He faintly smirked and went to the living room. I gave the family a hug and Eren a kiss on the cheek as another car pulled up. A nurse got out and helped Kuchel up.

"Luna." Kuchel smiled brightly as I went to help her to the door.

"Happy Thanksgiving." I smiled back.

"Hey, mom." Levi hugged her and helped her onto the couch.

"BANG BANG!" A loud, unfamiliar voice suddenly proclaimed.

"Ugh." Levi groaned, causing Kuchel to pinch his arm.

"Hey, Kenny." Mikasa said nonchalantly. Kenny? Oh...

"Howdy." He nodded. "Hey, ya runt." He came over and ruffled Levi's hair. I could tell Levi was holding back from probably starting a fight. "You look lovely, Kuchel." He kissed the back of Kuchel's hand. What a variety of impressions.

He finally turned towards me and stared, making me slightly uncomfortable and a little scared. "This is Luna." Levi thankfully stepped in.

"Never thought the day would come." Kenny slightly smiled but quickly took it away. "Where's the food? I'm starvin'."

Levi sighed once more and uncovered everything. The food turned out really good and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. Kenny was, in fact, quite the character as Eren had said on our first date. But he did add a little humor to the table.

After we were done eating, we all sat down to watch the Thanksgiving parades. (A/N: Sorry if I'm being too American😅) Did I mention this was also the first time Levi and Eren's parents met each other? Yeah, they were a bit taken aback at first by Levi's cold attitude, but I think they saw that he was a nice guy inside by how he dealt with Kuchel.

Eventually I got up to get a drink from the kitchen and thought I heard someone follow me. "You've really changed him, huh?" Kenny asked a bit more quietly.

"What?" I questioned.

"That runt. Levi." He said. "You've made him soft."

"I don't know." I chuckled. People keep saying that. Have I really made that impression on him?

"I'm a little disappointed, but-"

"Oh, hush." Kuchel hit his shoulder. "He's my son."

"Whatever." Kenny rolled his eyes. "Well, it was nice to meet ya, kid." He ruffled my hair and walked out the door. I stared at it in confusion.

"You'll get used to him." Kuchel laughed.

"Yeah, I'm sure I will." I laughed, too.
