It was raining outside, so Perseus threw on a hoodie and walked into the mud. He found her sitting in front of the door to Athena's cabin, rocking her body back and forth. She was wet, drenched, but Perseus could tell she was crying, or she was.
Her beautiful red hair was still in a ponytail, but it was dirty and streaked with mud.
"Kiko..?" He whispered. He wasn't sure he had heard her through the pounding of the rain, but she lifted her eyes and met Perseus's. She let go of her legs, which were tucked close to her chest. She got up, trembling.
"Perseus.." her voice was an attempt to be cheerful, but he could still tell it was ragged and full of sobs. Her face flushed red, realizing this too. "You... uh, look good in that hoodie."
"Kiko, what's wrong?" Perseus hated seeing this girl upset.
"I was thinking...." she paused, gulping. "I was thinking about you, Perseus! You!"
Perseus felt his mouth open slightly. "Me..? Why?"
"Perseus, do be honest with me." She moved in closer, letting the rain pound down on her shoulders. "Do you love me?" She whispered to his ear.
Perseus didn't say anything at first. Kiko was hugging him, quiet too.
"Kiko.. I..." he knew Kiko was insanely beautiful. But he also knew Claire... his head felt like it was being torn apart. He withdrew from Kiko... "I need some time to think... I can't do this right now." And he did something he regret for a long time. He ran to his cabin, leaving Kiko standing in the rain, her arms out, all alone.
Perseus dried off and curled up in his bed. Before he fell asleep, he could make one thought... If I were to see Aphrodite, and she changed to who I loved... would I see Kiko or Claire?"That's your mother, right?" End asked. She and Leland sat at the Phaethon River. Leland was sitting closer than End, who didn't like the heat too much.
"Nyx... yeah."
"Any siblings?" End asked, eyeing Leland as he dangled his feet just above the Phaethon River.
"Two direct ones." Leland said bitterly. "Dallas, killed by Medusa, and Eclipse, a betrayer."
"Hm." End paused, then gave a laugh. "Seems like your the only reasonable person in your family."
"Seems so." Leland shrugged.
"I'll be honest, I'm surprised." End said, casually, beginning to eye Leland to see if he would be offended. "You can't beat Nyx."
"Well, their's a reasonable explanation for that." Leland said, turning away from the Phelgenton and looking at End. "Ever since Eclipse left, Nyx set me to learn the realm of possessing. I've been learning up to today, so one day I could... uh, bring back Eclipse. I haven't trained battle in like what, 27 years?"
"Oh... wow." End simply responded.
"Yeah."
"Where's Eclipse now?"
"Uhm, somewhere in the overworks." He gestured his hand wildly above him. "Saw her couple of days ago..."
"Oh? Where?"
"Camp Half-Blood." Leland said. "I joined
spirits with Jason, the lightning child. I saw her."
"Oh, wow." End said, shocked. She had never before heard of the powers of possessing simply because she never needed it. "What did you do up there?"
"Battled Perseus, why?"
End shoved her face into her hands and groaned. "Ah, shit."
Leland looked slightly guilty, but didn't even know why he should be guilty. "What's wrong? Was it me?"
"Yes, but you weren't aware so I don't blame you." End said, still not making it clear on what he has done wrong.
"End, what?!" Leland complained impatiently.
End stared at him, "we were going to ally with him."
