"Well, let’s start with me and Patrick. I am called your mentor, or brother. I'm here to show you how the school works, and I will help you with your power. I share a house with you. Our neighbor will be considered your sister. Each student has a sister and a brother who takes care of them. It all depends on the test you took before whether you room with your brother or your sister. Any questions yet?" He asked. "Yeah, two. Does my "sister" have a first year to take care of to, and what’s the test?"  He nodded; I knew he was expecting those questions. “Yes your sister will have a first year and I will be his or hers brother as well, but since your my mentored, you come first. And the test is something that happens... Well it’s hard to explain. The school is basically made up of magic. The school controls itself; it’s not controlled by a person or a group of people. When the magic in your blood, usually while you’re fourteen or thirteen, comes prominent then the school alerts your counselor that you’re ready for collection, and then it goes through your brain and sees everything. That’s how we got paired together, because our brains were a perfect match. The school also knows your power before you do, that’s another reason why we are paired together because our powers match in some way.

When we discover your power then we will report it to Patrick, who is your counselor. He is basically your father while you are on campus. Your classes will be based upon your power if it is discovered before first semester starts. Now, you were discovered way early so that is why you are here in the middle of summer and not right before school starts. Some kids are like that, so you won’t be the only one on campus. School doesn’t start for one month so you will have plenty of time to get used to everything." He said running out of breath. "All this information is making my head hurt. ”Ya, I know, mine to. So I will stop for now. If you have any more questions just ask anytime. Now I'm going to go show you around school and get you registered." He told me as he headed toward the door, pulling off a dark purple hoodie off a hook by the door. “Do I need anything and what does getting registered mean?" I asked still trying to absorb everything.

"No you don’t need anything. And registering will be so mysterious for you. What you have to know is that Joeden is more advanced than even the whole United States." That didn’t help me at all. What was registration and why wasn’t he telling me about it? We walked down the path and soon reached the grand field. Then he led me back down towards the main road and soon we reached what I now call the shopping center. “First, we will go to the item area." Shane said, putting his arm around my shoulders. When we got closer I noticed that there were five buildings. "The first shop on the far left is the all-girl store, no guys allowed. The next building is the movie theatre; it’s where everyone goes on dates. It plays one different movie every week, one on Friday and another showing on Saturday. It’s always crowded. Next to that is the general store. It’s where you shop for everything. After that is the specialty store... it sells like fancy outfits, it’s also got a hair salon and a nail salon. And finally is the boy’s store, no girls allowed." He said pointing to all the stores in order. "Why are there two different stores for boys and girls?" I asked. "The girls store is where you buy all your uniforms and makeup and other stuff, so it’s just easier if it’s not mixed in with the guys and vice versa." The size of the stores was pretty impressive. The girls, boys, and specialty store, plus the movie theatre were about the size of the mega target back home. The general store was huge! I can’t even explain it... it was like two times the nearest Costco. "You don’t need anything do you?" Shane asked me. I shook my head, no. "Alright to registration." He said pointing in the direction of the school offices.

As we passed the cafeteria, I smelled the most amazing smell, and realized when my stomach growled that I hadn’t eaten in forever! Shane flat out laughed at me. "Don't worry we will get dinner after registration." He smirked. Sooner then I realized we were at the office building, but instead of going inside the front doors Shane led me to the back where a long smaller building was jutting out the side of the main building. He led me through the door, where a young woman with long black hair tied into a side braid sat at a desk. "Registrating?" She asked with a sweet smile. “Yes, she is. Sara Corvay." He said my name and she typed into her computer. "Ok, come with me, sweet heart. Sir, you can wait here." She said pointing at a comfortable looking chair. As she led me down the hallway she made me even more nervous for "registration."
