Six days later:
You are standing back in the courtyard in the same positions as yesterday, but this time you are staring at a line of strange contraptions."Attention!!!"
All cadets in the courtyard suddenly stand at attention, even some of the lecturers stand a little straighter.
"Today we will be testing your balance..." Shadis gestures towards one of the devices.
"As you all know, balance is one of the key principles of controlling your omni directional mobility gear." He clenches his fist as if remembering something troubling.
"You will be hooked into these devices and raised a few feet off of the ground. If you can't keep yourself upright on these, you will be on a one way trip out of here. Do you understand?!?!"
"Sir!!!" All cadets straighten their backs and salute the Commander.
"Okay, walk up to one of the frames when your name is called..."

Fifty three minutes later:
"Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Jean Kirshtein, Connie Springer, Sasha Blouse & (Y/fn) (Y/sn). All of you come to the front and get hooked in." The commander's voice signals sweet release from the pins and needles that have begun to set within your legs.'Finally!'
You make your way towards one of the large machines in the centre of the courtyard, as you line up with the others who were called you decide to go over what you know based on what you've seen so far.
'So these machines will lift us into the air and suspend us until the alotted time is up. This is an exercise designed to test how easily we can engage our cores, and how sensitive we are to our centre of gravity.'
Your concentration is disrupted by one of the trainers gesturing for you to move forward. Once in place you are strapped into the device by the straps that line your military uniform. After the wires have been secured the trainers begin cranking a winch at the side of the device and you start to rise.
You begin to feel your stomach tense and move slightly as you make small adjustments to your stance. You straighten one of your legs and bend the other. At the same time you bend your arms slightly at the elbow. Before you know it your completely stable, you make it look completely effortless. Your success is met with mutterings of praise and adulation from the other cadets.
"Ooohhhh.""Wow."
"Check them out."
'Hmm...Maybe All those years of climbing have given me an above average sense of balance?'
You look off to your left and see Commander Shadis speaking with another trainer, who proceeds to gesture towards you and someone beside you. Looking to your right you see Mikasa, who appears to be finding it as easy as you are. In fact a large number of other cadets seem to have a natural affinity for it.
