You speed towards the first titan that makes its way through the hole in the wall, Mina and Thomas fly next to you.
"(Y/fn)! Do you even have a plan!?!?" You don't bother to turn around to address Thomas's concern.
"The bigger titans have to funnel in through the gap in a single file line. That gives us an advantage, since we can take them out one by one. The little ones are the problem, since they will swarm extremely quickly." You're getting closer, you need to finish your explanation now.
"I will take out the small one first. On my way past I will cut the larger titan's legs. Once it has stopped moving, you two will finish it off!" You have no time to determine whether or not they've registered your instructions, as the first titan comes within your striking range. It's a short portly creature, around five metres in height. As you get closer, its eyes suddenly snaps towards you, and it begins to charge with its arms outstretched. Luckily, you were expecting this. You fire an anchor into the leg of the larger titan before quickly moving to your right. The small titan runs head first into your, now outstretched, wire. As it does, the pressure exerted on the wire pushes you around to the back of the small titan's neck. You pull your arms back. You fire a final burst of gas and start spinning. Within a second you tear the flesh from the back of the titan's neck, the piece of bloodied flesh falls to the ground like a slab of meat being thrown against a wall. A trail of blood dances around you as you spin away from the falling titan corpse, but you aren't done yet. You detach the anchor that you fired into the larger titan and allow the momentum to carry you further around, as you continue to spin. Before you know it, you're cutting into the thigh of the larger titan. When you finish your attack, it collapses onto its knees, the impact causing your teeth to clatter, and dust to be kicked up. You begin to slow down your spin, the final drops of blood being flicked off of the edges of your blades. As you come to a graceful stop, you turn towards Mina and Thomas.
"Now! Finish it!" On your order, Thomas and Mina both fly towards the fallen titan, blades gleaming, as they prepare to make their first kill. However, as they approach you notice the titan begins to stir. Before they can react, the titan's arm shoots out, grabbing Thomas by his waist. In the chaos Mina attempts to kill the titan. But in her haste, she cuts the nape too shallowly, failing to kill the titan. With no time left to waste, you fly towards the arm holding Thomas and tear through it like paper. With the arm severed, you fly down towards the falling limb with a quick burst of gas. Cutting the fingers from around Thomas's waist, you grab him by his arm and throw him into the air. With the both of you out of the immediate danger, you turn back to Mina.
"Mina! Try again!" Mina swings one last time. This time she cuts the nape from the titan's body, the life fading from its eyes almost immediately. With the large titan dead, you realise you've brought a decent amount of time, and you need to get Thomas and Mina out of there. Scooping both of them under your arms, you fly them further into the city and away from the wall. You decide to land on a distant rooftop and take a short break. Mina and Thomas both look shaken to their cores.
"You two Ok?...Tch..." You look down at your hands, noticing they're covered in blood. You quickly pull out a handkerchief and start to wipe the blood from your hands.
"We're fine (Y/fn). Just a little shaken, I suppose." Mina's response is timid and lacks any semblance of confidence, which you guess is an understandable response to what just happened. Putting away your handkerchief, you walk over to the edge of the roof.
"We need to rondesvouze with the rest of the squad, and prepare for our next fight. Come on!" You all fly back towards the main headquarters to resupply and prepare.

Twenty minutes later:
You stand on the edge of headquarters overlooking the city. Since your initial skirmish with the titans, they have completely over run the city. Huge casualties have already been sustained, and that number is steadily increasing. You look to your left at Mina and Thomas. Both of them are still scared, and aren't really jumping at the prospect of having to go back into battle. You lift your hand and begin moving it towards Mina's shoulder. But before you can offer any reassurance, a voice causes you to pull back.
"You kids did a good job..." You turn around and notice your captain walking towards you.
"You may have only bought us a few minutes, but even that saved more lives, than if you hadn't." Mina and Thomas both snap to attention before saluting the captain.
"Thank you, Sir!" You simply continue to stare into the chaos, trying to get a grip of the current situation.
"Hey (Y/sn)! What are you doing?" You turn towards the captain with an unreadable expression.
"I'm thinking about the best way to move forward." He walks up alongside you, his gaze following yours.
"And what do you see?" His voice is calm and measured, a far cry from the bossy and stuck up captain you're used to.
