Chapter Seven: The Battle Of Trost Begins

It has been one week since you graduated. You, Mina and Thomas have been working with the control squad for a few days now, and you've all adjusted to soldier life rather well.
"Hey, (Y/sn)! The captain wants to see us all, asap." You throw your green cape over your shoulders, as the sun burns your retinas through the window.
"Why?" Your squad mate just shrugs.
"Don't know. But if I had to guess...It's to get our assignments for the day." With that, he turns around. You follow a few minutes later. Arriving outside, you bring your hand up to your face to try and shield your eyes, barely managing to alleviate the pain. Waiting for you are the rest of the squad. Including yourself, Thomas and Mina, there are six members in total. You take your place inbetween Thomas and Mina before standing at attention, as your captain gives his morning speech. He is a rather tall man, maybe 6'9. After he is finished briefing you on your tasks for the day you all salute him, as your capes blow around in the wind. Whilst Thomas, Mina and your own bare the symbol of the cadet corps, your older squad mate's are embroidered with the twin roses of The Garrison regiment as a symbol of their seniority.
"Alright! (Y/sn), Wagner, Carolina! You three get down to main street, immediately!" You don't even bother to acknowledge his order. Instead just walking towards your destination, your captain learnt pretty quickly about your anti social disposition, and that you don't work well with anyone who isn't Mina or Thomas. So after many heated letters between him and Shadis, about your "attitude." He eventually just accepted the fact that he should be grateful you even follow his orders to begin with.
Walking down towards main street is a slow and tedious affair. You are walking with your usual deadpan expression, the crowds of people give you a handful of looks. Thomas is walking next to you occasionally waving and smiling at the people. And Mina has quickly stoped to talk with some young girls who have pulled her to the side, they both seem to appreciate the presence of a female soldier close to their own age.
"All this staring is starting to piss me off." The discomfort at being pierced by everyone's judgmental gazes is starting to get to you.
"Well...Maybe people would stare less if you didn't look like your about to knock someone out?" You turn to Thomas and raise your fist towards his face.
"I'll knock you out in a minute." Thomas lets out a small laugh, a mixture of amusement and fear present in his voice.
"What's wrong with a bit of attention? It's not like there's anything going on around here anyway." As you all continue to walk, you pull out a small pocket watch from your top pocket.
"Come on, we need to pick up the pace. We should have been at the front gate by now."

A few minutes later:
You all arrive at the main gate of wall Rose. There are a handful of Garrison soldiers milling around the area. Some look tired and bored, mostly just sitting around talking with each other. One soldier calls out to the three of you.
"Hey! You guys with the control squad?" You give a single nod of your head.
"Yeah." The soldier then points towards the top of the wall.
"A soldier has a task they need you to help with, you should find them up top." You all pull out your control grips and fire grapples into the wall, Mina gives the man a kind wave.
"Thank you." It only takes you a few seconds to fly up to the top of the wall. Mina and Thomas both land gracefully next to each other, whilst you allow your momentum to carry you higher than you need, before somersaulting forward and landing front and centre.
"You damned show off." You turn towards Eren, as he shoots you his usual confident grin.
