DAISY'S POV

"From the look of things, it seems like you and that Alex guy have a lot of chemistry going on," mom stated as we cleaned the dinner dishes.
I laughed feeling so nervous and anxious.
"Not at all mom, we're just friends. And his mom invited both Stewart and I for the summer at her ranch."

Her gray eyes held my gaze captive, then the mischievous grin surfaced.
"Met his parents already?" She laughed handing me a plate to dry.

"Mom!" I called embarrassed.
"Don't say a thing dear. Whatever is going on between you two, I'm loving it. Just don't be reckless."
She leaned closer to whisper in my ear, "I wouldn't advice you to take pills, but have protected sex if you ever think of getting in bed with him."

I laughed throwing the little towel away and turned to leave.

"I'll talk to your dad about the visit honey!" Mom's yell hit after I was out of the kitchen. "Thanks mom!" I yelled back before rushing up the stairs.

Her statement had brought up wild thoughts about Alex. Getting in bed with him?
Would that be possible under the sun?
I didn't even match up to his standards, not one bit.

Whatever!
Tomorrow would be a better day. Especially with the summer tests going on.

"I failed!"
Windy groaned hugging me at the lot.
I sympathised with her for a while. "So, this means..."
"I'll be travelling to Canada. Dad will kill me."

I retreated and cupped her jaw. "Hey, your dad won't do that. He'll just give you a few lectures and that's it."
She offered an aching smile. "I'm so happy that you aced it. Looks like you'll be going to Alex's ranch after all."

I sighed. "Yah, I guess."
Windy rubbed my right arm, her eyes smiling with affection. "Just remember to have fun love."
"Don't worry, I'll keep you updated Windy."
We embraced once more. Tighter and firmer. "I'm flying tonight Daisy, wish I'd have taken you along."

There was sadness in those eyes. And I just wished there was something I could do for her.
"Wait, what if...you could come along? I can ask Alex about it?"

"Ha! Like his mom could allow three strangers in her-"
Immediately, her phone buzzed.
She shoved it out and read the text.

"Talk of the devil, he just asked if I'm available for the summer."

A load rolled off my back. The graceful smile on Windy's lips did its magic in me like a glorious sunrise.
"That's great Windy. I'm sure it'll be double fun with you around."
Like a wild lunatic, Windy let out a happy scream, capturing the attention of everyone in the lot.

The vast display of green fields filled my sight.
The wheat growing on the lands and the horses racing were all so marvellous.
After flying there, we found a car waiting for us at the airport.

"Oh man! There's too much green like some paradise," Windy whined from my side.
I laughed, before averting my attention to the males seated behind us. Their heads were out the windows, screaming like little kids.
Maybe. Just maybe this might turn out better than I expect.

The main house stood proudly at the center of the ranch. Off the road to a little green path that lead us to it.
"How rich is your mom bro?" Stew asked gazing at the tall impressive building glaring down at us with superiority.

Alex huffed the question and proceeded to knock at the double doors.
A minute later of waiting in total silence, they opened up.
And there stood a brunette smiling at us.

"Ooh, you're here!" She squeaked excitedly and jumped on Alex for a bone-crushing hug.
"We've been waiting for you like forever."
I darted Windy a surprised gaze. She looked as shocked as I was, or even more that she cleared her throat to grab the pretty girl's attention.

Her clear blue eyes came upon us attentively..
"You must be the friends he was bringing."
I nodded, but the other two just stared at her speechless.
"Okay, please come in... You can leave your luggage's there, they'll come fetch them."

"Where's mom?"
She gazed up to meet his eyes. And I cursed the look she gave Alex.
"She had an emergency at the hospital. But don't worry, she'll be back in a jiffy."

It took me more than thirty minutes to calm my nerves around those new people.
Alex seemed so comfortable there, Windy could adjust so easily, and Stew, well, it was hard telling his side since all he was doing was digging in the many foods at the table.

"Well this is a big room," Windy complimented as soon as we got there.
The help excused herself after delivering our suitcases.
I looked around.
There were some pretty lava lamps, one at each side of the bed. They were the most fascinating things in the spacious room.
The large windows and the light white curtains falling allowed maximum sunlight inside.

"If we're going to stay here for a whole summer, we should set some rules Windy. I don't want Mrs Bold walking in here to find a me-" A pillow at my face shut me.
Heavy laughter followed from the bed.

"You did not just do tha-" Another one. And that did it. I jumped on the bed to grab a pillow. Then fought back.
