A newspaper was dropped on my lap by an angry mom.
"What the?" She barked with her fists outwards from her hips.
With no need to check what was in or on it, I knew she'd not understand.
"Didn't I tell you to stay away from that bastard? He killed your father, now you want him to ruin your reputation? Crap! He ain't worthy of anything Daisyln!"
It's been years since she'd scolded me. And it felt utterly horrible. This side of tough mom always brought thunder in our lives."I'm not going to just sit and watch him wreck what you've struggled to establish. I'm going to sue him."
"Mom!" I cried suddenly aware of how serious she was taking the issue. "Sue him for what? Loving me?"
That sent her off the edge.
Her face literally went pink, a cocktail of anger and deep rage and a little of disgust or disappointment."That's it! I'm going to have a talk with that man. It's either he leaves you alone, or he'll regret ever coming in our lives."
With no other word, the furious dragon flew out of the room like a bomb ready to explode.I sighed throwing the paper to the wall. It smacked on the surface, then slipped to the floor between the wall and the bed.
What kind of shit had I gotten myself into?
Where was Vince anyway?
After a cold shower, I put on sweatpants and a little white top, grabbed my headphones then jogged down the stairs.
I could hear bitter yells from the kitchen, mom was talking to someone over the phone. And it didn't strike me to hear my name in the conversation. One last sad sigh and I jumped outside, wearing the headphones. They weren't plugged anywhere. Just wore them so that no one would disturb my morning jog.
The air was cold.
The people's gazes questioning as I jogged past them.
So I decided to take a run in the park instead. At least I'd only find fellow joggers there that were into their business.
But still, the eyes were demanding. What was on that newspaper that seemed to give me such weird attention?
The jog ended as soon as a blond man, with piercing dark eyes came in sight from another path... I averted my direction, but Alex ran ahead and blocked it.
His warm breaths gushed from his nostrils against the cold.
And from the perspiration along his forehead, seemed like he'd been running a lot.
"You can't avoid me Munchy."
I pushed down the headphones. "What do you want Alex? Thanks to your stupidity, I'm showing up on a local newspaper."
He laughed stopping at my front.
"You're welcome for the publicity. I'm just wondering about...yesterday. Did he...did Vince-" "Gawd! Will you never quit?" I squeaked, knowing too well what he meant.
But I was so fascinated by the glow of envy on his face."I guess I'm too stubborn than you are." When he stepped forward, I backed. But a hand yanked me sorely against him without an apology. Damn I loved how possessive he was about me. Damn dominant.
"Let me go!"
Alex laughed. "We both know you don't want that." He whispered lowering his head at my neck.A stream of hot breaths nibbed at the sensitive skin there. Before something hot and wet was swept across.
I bottled a light moan and pretended to push Alex away.
"Stop this Al-" Another neck kiss stole my speech. He went on, never caring about who would see. Honestly, I didn't either.
"You're a wild cat. Seems like three years worked perfectly on your other side." Alex joked clearing the hairs off my temple.
My lips were extremely dry, in need of a kiss. Which the bastard didn't give. Instead, he pulled away, studied my expression."Damn you look so lusty."
He laughed running fingers through my hair.
"I don't!" Denied avoiding his tempting eyes.
"Then say it with tour gaze on mine..."
I did look up. But had no will to fight the crave.Alex made the best from the situation by the satisfied chuckles. "Just tell that pest that I'll always be watching you two. Nobody, nobody, is taking my woman away from me."
A large lump had blocked my throat. Making it difficult to talk back... He really thought so highly of himself. But maybe it's why I was so crazy about in him.
"You're such an idiot!" Snapped before jogging back.
I heard him laugh, and that made me grin to myself.
"I love you Daisy! You're mine!"
The yell came as I initiated a corner by a large tree.
