Chapter 15

Dianne's POV

I woke up smiling, thinking of Joe of course, when my phone rang. Buzz! Buzz! I jumped out of my bed and went to grab my phone.

D-"Hello"
J-"Ello"
D-"Joe"
J-"Correct Uʻi"
D-"That's means beautiful in Hawaiian"
J-"It does indeed also I would just like to note it is pretty much the only Hawaiian I know"
D-"Why did you call me"
J-"One I just wanted to hear your voice and two the pipes have burst as you said"
D-"It was probably the ghost"
J-"Not funny now I'm scared, but also we don't know how to fix them"
D-"I'll come round now Nā lima"
J-"What does that mean"
D-"Not telling you"
J-"I bet it means idiot or something"
D-"You'll have to wait anyway I'm about to set off so see ya soon Nā lima"
J-"Urgh see you soon"

I went round to Joe's and knocked firmly on the door.

Co-"Hey what's your name"
D-"That doesn't matter where's Joe"
Co-"Hey Joe your one-night stand is here"
J-"Connor shut up, come in Di"
D-"Thanks"

I pushed the door further open so it would go over Connor's toe; he flinched.

D-"So sorry"

Joe laughed and whispered "You're brilliant"

D-"Is there a particular place the pipes have leaked"
J-"Urmmmm"
D-"You have no idea do you"
J-"No but I was hoping you would"
D-"Because I'm so brilliant I do"
J-"Well we've just discovered I can tell the future"

I giggled. I walked towards a door.

Ja-"Oh that doors locked you won't be able to open it"

I turn around to see all of Joe's friends sat at the table. I looked at Joe and gave him a smirk, he smirked back. I walked over to the door and opened it with ease.

Ja-"I take it back"
D-"Mhm"
J-"You never fail you amaze me"
D-"Well I was here long before you"
J-"How long have you lived here"

I looked up at Joe giving him a look.

Joe's POV

J-"Guys do you wanna"
B-"Yeah"
Ca-"Let's go to the beach"
Ja-"It's gonna be so busy though"
Co-"That doesn't matter let's go"

The guys left and I turned to Dianne. I sat down next to where she was working.

J-"So"
D-"So you know that elderly couple that live next to me and know about the secret place"
J-"I mean I've never met them but yes"
D-"They raised me"
J-"Oh okay"
D-"That's not it you know the plane that crashed 18 years ago"
J-"Oh the Polohana crash"
D-"Yeah Polohana translates to flight, anyway I was 7 when that happened and I was on that flight"
J-"Oh my"
D-"It was my older brothers, my parents and I... there were 150 people on that flight 39 people died my family being 4 of those 39, that's also how I got this scar"

Dianne turned around and lifted her shirt up it revealed a washed-out fishbone like scar on her back. I traced it with my finger, I went from the bottom of her scar all the way to the top. I shuffled closer to her and kissed her neck softly.

D-"You don't think I'm any less beautiful then"
J-"I could never"
D-"By the way Nā lima means handsome"

I smiled.
