Quinn looked around. She could see crowds of people swarming in through the large front gates, but they didn't get out of the car. Instead, Curtis drove them around to a back gate. The car pulled up just outside of some glass doors.

"Wait for me," Gray said as he got out of the car and moved around to her side. He opened the door for her and helped her out.

"No one has ever done that for me before."

"I didn't think so," he said, winking at her and oh God it made her want him. He seemed so relaxed and... human tonight and it was a whole new level of attractive. She'd bet not too many people saw him like this. He took her hand in his and led her through the glass doors.

"This is my private box," he told her as they walked up a staircase.

They entered a large room with an uninterrupted view of the green playing field below. They were the only ones in the room and it gave her ideas. But Gray seemed focused on other things.

"Help yourself to a drink," he told her distractedly as he lifted a phone from its cradle in the corner of the room closest to the windows.

She turned toward a fridge, listening to him speak at the same time.

"Damien, I'm here. Great, I'll see you soon." He turned back toward her. "Any beer in the fridge?"

She pulled one out and handed it to him, watching him as he opened the bottle and took a long swill. He raked a hand through his hair as he paced back to the window and then over to her again.

"Are you okay?" she asked. He'd seemed to have forgotten she was in the room. He turned to look at her.

"Sorry, I always get like this before a game," he said, making her smirk at him.

"Well, well, well. Grayson Holloway has a chink in his armour."

He smiled back at her. "I think you're the chink in my armour."

His words made her all goose bumpy. "I know something that might make you relax. I'm not wearing any underwear with this dress."

His eyes widened and he took a step into her. "Don't you know the rule, no sex before a game," he said, but he grabbed a handful of her arse anyway, just to see for himself if she was in fact not wearing any underwear.

Quinn thought he was going to kiss her, but in the next moment the door swung open and a man in a suit walked in. He was tall, slightly older than Gray and heavily built. He looked like he would've once been a footballer, but she couldn't picture it while he was wearing a suit. Gray took a step back from her and walked toward the other man.

"Damien," Gray said, shaking the other man's hand. "I'd like you to meet Quinn," he said as though nothing untoward had just been about to happen.

He turned to her and shook her hand, smiling appreciatively. "Nice to meet you," he said before Gray commanded his attention again.

"Tough game tonight, Damien," he said. "What are our tactics?"

The two men moved over to the side of the room and Quinn made herself comfortable on the lounge. She sipped at her wine and pulled out her phone, trying to find something, an app that would keep her occupied. But after a few minutes the door opened again and Quinn was surprised to see Dave, Summer's boyfriend walk in the door with a couple of other players from the team. She leapt up from her chair when she saw him and he came over to her to give her a giant hug.

"Hiya, beautiful!" he said. "What are you doing here?"

"I've come to watch you play tonight," she said smiling up at him.
