Quinn was trying to put a Keynote presentation together. It wasn't working. She had a lecture to present for a group of interns working at the Daily Times and her thoughts kept wondering. It probably had something to do with the mind-blowing sex her and Gray had engaged in just this morning. They'd been back together for only a week and they had barely been able to keep their hands off each other. Gray had been particularly amorous and perhaps it was the fact that they were renewing their commitment to each other, but Quinn was particularly sensitive right now. Either way, she couldn't wait to finish up with the lecture, it was pulling at her time now that she and Gray were back on track.
Forcing herself to focus, Quinn finished off the presentation and stood from her workstation, maybe a little too quickly because the room seemed to tip and she felt short of breath. She grabbed onto the back of the chair, her eyes darting about hoping no one had seen her. She straightened and went to walk toward the bathroom.
"You okay?" came a voice behind her.
Someone had seen her. She spun around to face Sam. "Yeah, thanks, Sam. Just got up a little too quickly."
"Everything okay with you and Holloway?"
"Never better," Quinn said with a smile.
"You look a lot better, I think most of the office has been worried about you for some time."
"Things are back to normal now. How are you and Trina going?"
"Really great. We're looking for an apartment to rent together."
"Really, you're moving in together? That's huge."
"I know, but it just feels right."
"That's great news. She's such an awesome chick. She really knows how to party."
"Yeah, she said she had a great time at your divorce party."
Quinn laughed. "Even if it didn't turn out to be a divorce party."
"Trina said it was definitely the most interesting party she's ever been to in her life."
"I hope everyone didn't mind me skipping out like I did."
Now Sam laughed. "To be honest, I don't think anyone even noticed you were gone."
"Yes, Summer mentioned there was much merriment, a celebration in my honour. Anyway, I'm really happy for you and Trina. Things seem to be going well."
"Yeah," Sam said with a dreamy look in his eye that Quinn just had to smirk at. He had it bad.
"Hey, listen, I can't believe I didn't think of it before. My apartment is up for rent, you and Trina should rent it out," Quinn said.
"That's great. I was going to ask you if it was available now that you and Holloway are back on."
"Of course, you'd be the perfect person to rent it out to. You can pick up the keys tonight if you want. Otherwise it's just an empty apartment sitting there."
"Wow. That's awesome. Apartments are so hard to find these days."
"Its a win/win for both of us. You get an apartment and I know who's living there. I'll see you tonight, then?"
"I'll see you then. Thanks again, Quinn."
Quinn hurried off, desperate for the toilet before she had to be in the auditorium to present her lecture. But she still didn't feel better afterwards and by the time she was standing in the auditorium, she felt even worse. The day was proving to be a hot one and the air conditioning seemed to be broken.
