London Bridge is Falling Down

A wave of uneasiness overtakes me as we reach London airspace.

Home.

My first home. My home over 100 years ago.

I try to shake the sense of discomfort as Peter readies for his jump. Leaving the cockpit I make my way back to the cabin.

"You ready kid?" I ask breathless. This is all happening too fast.

He looks up from the mask in his hands. "Yeah." He says confidently. "Yeah I got this." I step back, back straight, the confidence rubbing off.

"Okay Spider-Man."  I say, crossing my arms. "Let's get this done."

Pulling the mask over his face he lets his eyes adjust before pointing at me. "Uh you might want to hold on to something."

Reaching back I find a firm hold on a rail over head as a door to the cabin opens. The plane depressurizes and my ears ring as Peter gives a two finger salute and swings out onto the side of the plane. The door instantly shuts behind him, giving me a reason to let go. re-entering the pit I put in an earpiece.

"Can you hear us kid?" Happy flips a switch, transitioning us into hover mode.

"Yeah I can. It's just a little loud out here." Happy smiles, causing me to smile. "I like the new suit." He says it like a proud father.

"Thanks." Peter says from the other side of the glass.

Happy's smile is dashed when he sees what we're up against. I know it's not real in my head but the detail of it causes me to sit further forward in my seat.

"We need to get higher so Beck doesn't see us coming." I say, reaching for the co pilot yoke in front of me. Happy nods and immediately pulls up. A few hundred feet higher and Peter finally feels comfortable about the jump.

"Take care." I mouth. He nods and with a little salute and a nervous roll of his shoulders he releases.

The landing is rough to say the least. People are running frantically from the bridge, trying to find cover. It only gets worse as Happy and I disembark. Fighting the flow of traffic we make it to an overlook.

My eyes dart back and forth looking for any of Peter's classmates. When I look to my left I see them huddled against the railing. Tapping Happy on the shoulder I make my way towards them.

When I call out to them they look frightened, but then Happy steps up next to me and Ned recognizes him. "We need to get you guys out of here!"

The kid with the livestream says, "Who are you?"

"I work with Spider-Man, okay?" He pushes them forward, towards the jet.

"You're that girl, that girl who's married to the Winter Soldier. You work for Spider-Man?" The kid asks.

Happy takes the question, still pushing the group of four forward. The next round of questions is completely overpowered by the explosion of our jet.

We all sit there stunned for a moment. New plan. "Into the tower!" I say, scooting the blond girl along. The Tower of London has stood for centuries, even survived an assault back 2013 when a Dark Elf came to Earth, if I recall Thor's story correctly.

We're all running forward, completely powered by the goal of finding safety. People are still fleeing, but the immediate area has emptied.

A few drones break away and follow us into the tower. I've got nothing but a hand gun on me, nobody in our group has any sort of weapon either. I crouch down behind a suit of armor, MJ is across the aisle from me, completely calm and focused. The rest of the group is trying to make it to the vault, the vault that holds the Crown Jewels. It's not a bad idea.
