"Get out" The words effortlessly rolled off my tongue at a helpless-looking Derek from across the table.

His face turns more red than before, mumbling a response, "Y/n," He starts, "I-"

"Stop talking" I calmly lift a hand up toward his direction - suggesting that he not speak further, "Just please, for the love of god, stop talking. You do so much of it. Doesn't your jaw ever tire?" Both my hands find their way to my temple - as I attempt to rub away my headache.

The deafening silence after I spoke was a sign of defeat from the both of us. Derek gave up trying to explain himself, and I let all the pain and frustration I felt today, go.

It wasn't worth it.

He was in a vulnerable state and it wasn't fair of me to take my anger out on him.

My problem with Ariana stemmed from something much more deep and complex than a harmless kiss.

It stemmed from a lack of communication and understanding. Clearly from both sides, given she hasn't answered any of my texts.

Suddenly, I feel my phone in my pocket begin to vibrate. Without thought, I pull it out- in hopes that it'd be from the person I was expecting.

The video immediately plays and I feel my heart sink into my stomach.

In the video, was a very drunk but also very conscious Ariana with a firm grip on a bottle of wine. Her laughter emanating from my screen- almost as if she were right beside me.

She was the type that'd get drunk easily, and the fact that more than half of the bottle had been downed is what made my heart race. What she was doing wasn't safe. It could easily put her in danger - but she already knew that.

This was her best attempt at scaring me.

She wanted me to worry.
She wanted me to worry so badly that I'd end up drowning in my own thoughts - causing me to suffocate and fall to the ground in surrender.
Begging her to forgive me for my actions.

The video then pans out and a large group of people can be seen in the background. I couldn't quite make out exactly who the people were, but I had some kind of an idea - someone from school was probably throwing another party (yet again).

"Hey!" Ariana's deep voice immediately captures my attention as she begins to talk to the camera, "I've got a surprise for you".

She then begins to express her amusement with a loud and almost obnoxious laugh at what appears to be a person on the other side of her phone, "I'm getting wasted tonight." Her smile grew wider with each and every attempt to finish her sentence, "Who knows? Might as well have some fun while I'm at it" She jokingly winks.

I instinctively roll my eyes. She was such an attention seeker.

One specific fault in our relationship that was beyond either of our control was the level of authority she held. It was simply a given - no questions asked.  And as much as I tried to refute this, here I was - giving this girl my utmost attention.

"All thanks to you" Ariana then begins to giggle uncontrollably like a child.

I couldn't take listening to her laugh at her screen anymore- I wanted to exit out and forget all about this situation.

My mind then began to draw blanks as I stared at an empty dinning room. Derek was now long gone. He left once my phone began to vibrate - if there's one decent quality in him, it's his ability to sense when he's not welcome anymore.
