Rose walked on the flowery path by Han River, admiring the clear sky and perfect weather.
It's been 9 months since I last saw or heard from June. It's funny - thinking about him doesn't hurt anymore.
Rose looked up the sky, careful that her face mask don't drop or people will recognize her. She took a deep breath and started walking again, looking at the couples having picnics.
We could never have had done this - this normal, couple-on-a-picnic date. It's one of the disadvantages of being an artist.
As she thought about this, a couple giggled. She glanced at them and saw that they were feeding each other.
So cute...and free....
IN BLACKPINK'S APARTMENT
"Hey, Chaeyoung, where'd you go?!" clingy Lisa asked, jumping on her as she entered the living room.
Rose giggled. "I just got back from a walk."
"Really?! Didn't anyone recognize you?"
"Not with these baggy clothes and face masks, they won't."
Jisoo appeared from the kitchen. "Girls, check KakaoTalk. The new CEO wants all artists to report to the YG building immediately."
Rose and Lisa looked at each other. "I wonder why..." they both said in unison.
YG BUILDING, THE NOT-SO-SECRET GENERAL MEETING
BIGBANG, SECHSKIES, iKON, Blackpink, WINNER, AKMU, CL, Dara, and Treasure13 are in their respective waiting areas, waiting for the signal to come in the meeting room.
Rose, on the other hand, went out to find the nearest water station to get a drink.
As she was filling her jug with water, June appeared, waiting for his turn on the water.
"Oh, hey," Rose greeted.
"Hi.," June replied with a smile. Pause. "How have you been?"
"Same old, same old. Busy as always, getting ready for a fashion show in Paris."
"That sounds like fun! Any idea on why they called us?"
"Hmmm...well we have some theories, but we never know until we get there, right?" Rose said with a warm smile. She finished up with her jug. "Well, I'll see you there."
June nodded. "Yeah." He looked at her as she went away. There was a time when I would anything for her - even if it means putting my bandmates at risk. She's a diamond I chose to let go.
MEETING ROOM
"I'd like to thank everyone for coming here today," Hwang Bo Kyung, the new YG CEO, stated when everyone was settled down.
"It's been a trying year for the company, but I want to thank each and everyone in this room for being patient, diligent, and of exemplary character." Everyone clapped.
"I can't promise a lot of things as your new CEO - I know Yang Hyun Suk is a big hole to fill in. But there is one thing I can promise: little by little, step by step, we will regain our image and our reputation." Another round of applause.
"To all the groups and the solo artists here, I have a big announcement. In the middle of 2020, we will be holding a YG Family concert."
Everyone gasped - the last YG Family Concert would have been 5 years ago at that time. An excited buzz filled the room.
