Celine doesn't know how to react. Aria left with a surprise and now resurfaced with another. There is a limit a person could take. What's more this Dylan person seems so familiar yet also like a stranger.
Dylan with his jet black hair and light crimson eyes, he very much looks like Aren, dare Celine say they're twins but at the same not. If Aren has this menacing and unapproachable aura, Dylan has this soft and gentle look on his face, despite Celine seeing the latter glared at Aria. In her eyes, no matter how a puppy gets angry, it still looks cute.
If she could sight a difference between the physical appearance of the two, Dylan has a beauty mark just below the left eye. The shade of red in his eyes is also lighter.
Dylan seems to understand Celines shock and he smiled.
"No, I'm not Aren Fausse. Unfortunately, I do not own a company worth billions, I'm just a mere surgeon. Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan Clover." Dylan, with a dashing smiled offered his hand to Celine.
Celine reluctantly shook hands with Dylan.
"Aria I'm sorry but I just can't accept this. I mean..." Celine stole a glance at Dylan who was surprised at her words. She saw how Aria squeezed the hand of Dylan as if assuring the latter.
Celine wants her best friend to be happy. She truly does, however, she cannot help but think that Aria is using Dylan as a substitute for her former lover.
"No. I love Dylan for who he is." Aria stated reading Celines thoughts.
"Does Does he know?"
Celine whispered that part. She doesn't know why but it feels like a topic she doesnt want Dylan to hear.
"Yes, I do. I know that MY wife was previously in a relationship with Aren Fausse. The two of us struggled to understand each other due to such silly misunderstanding and express our feelings to one another due to that. We've passed through that which lead us to this."
Dylan raised both his and Aria's hand showing their intertwined fingers and the rings that bind them. Celine didn't like the way Dylan emphasized that Aria is now his wife. It left a bitter feeling deep inside her.
"Then what about the child? You told me you were pregnant before you left." Which only leaves Celine one conclusion...
Aren is the father.
"Aren and I broke up a week before I went to see you. I was devastated and Dylan I happen to meet in a club and at my current sorry state that time... things tend to happen."
"Celine stared at them conflicted on what to say. She was starting to believe their story, however, the complications seem endless."
"Aria... there were unresolved problems when you left, Aren is searching for you and he still is, and... Can we have talk alone? Just the two of us?"
"Whatever you want to say to my wife, you can also say it to me."
"Aria please. I know you love this guy but that doesn't mean that I trust him." Celine said with gritted teeth.
"I'm sorry but I came here per request of Aria; MY BEST FRIEND and I intend to stay by her side." Celine scoffed at Dylan and Aria was about to interject when Celine beat her to it.
"Can't you read the atmosphere? I would like to have a private conversation with MY best friend so the door is right over there."
"I'm afraid I can't do that; MY wife is already in enough trouble as it is. I'm afraid if I lose sight of her, trouble will find her."
*crackle
"Uh... Dylan, I think it would be better if yo—"
"And what trouble could MY Aria be in a closed space like this? Mind you, MY Aria was the one who arranged this meeting place. I'm confident that MY Aria took precautions and so did I."
*thunder
"Guys, calm do-"
"Well I'm glad you take MY wifes well-being as top priority, however, your assurance is redundant on this matter. I cannot be at ease when a scary capable person is persistently looking for MY beloved wife. If you have nothing more to say, I would like to take my wife home now."
* more crackles and thunder
(A/N: I honestly don't have any clue as to how to make the sound effect more intense... Sorry.)
"Oh don't get me started, I have a lot of things to say, you're presence is just not needed for that."
Dylan didn't say anything anymore and just sighed out of exhaustion. He is tired emotionally and physically.Who wouldn't? He just got home from a 12 hour plane ride after having to work endlessly without a rest for a week. Finding their house completely empty and seeing police officers at Aria's flower shop made him worry to death.
Dylan would rather take a good long rest than put up a fight needlessly. He was about to pull Aria from her seat when he felt the latter resisting. He glared at her and Aria met it with her pleading eyes. They stared at each other for a minute and Dylan finally heeded, sighing out of exhaustion.
"I'll be waiting in the car." Dylan then kissed Aria's forehead and bowed slightly to Celine before leaving them alone.
"Celine, that wasn't nice." Aria stated.
"He started it!"
"I want you two to get along."
"Ha! When hell freezes over." Celine scoffed and Aria just sighed.
"Thank you for the burial." Aria said as she smiled at Celine.
"It was the only thing I could do, it's also for atoning what I said three years ago." Celine then held on to Aria's hand and tears started to run down her cheek.
"Aria, w-what is this? Why are you living in seclusion and that bastard continues to live nonchalantly? Why am I missing a lot of things from your life when I'm your best friend? I wanted to see you move on, fall in love again and see you walk towards the altar. I wanted to fuss about your wedding dress since you clearly won't. I wanted to be at your side as the second mother of your child. I wanted to be by your side laughing, fighting and getting along. I... I don't like this."
It broke Aria's heart seeing her friend cry helplessly and hearing those words. She too would love those things, however, she doesn't want to drag Celine into her problems. She didn't even want to meet Celine but for one last time, before she goes away again... she wanted to see her best friend.
Aria patted Celine's head and uttered...
"Me too. I've wanted to see you break out of your shell. I wanted to congratulate you for getting the roles you've auditioned on and for achieving your dream. You've done well Celine, thank you for accepting me as your best friend."
Hearing that, Celine cried further.
"Stop crying, you're make up is totally ruined now." Aria said smiling as she wiped Celine's messed up mascara.
