Chapter 2:
(Hazel)
Hazel woke to blinding light. "What---?" she groans and blinks rapidly.
"Oh. Sorry," Sebastian looked over at her, pulling away the hot candle. "Where am I?" Hazel asked sleepily, realizing that she couldn't rub her eyes because she was tied to a chair.
"My manor," The strange boy with a eye patch replied, his hands behind his back. He was leaning forward, but was not in her face. Beside her, the other taller man stood next to him. The candle's orange light illuminated the younger's face.
Hazel tried to rack her brain about who he was. He look familiar. But.. she couldn't put a name on his beautiful face. She'd maybe had seen him at some type of meeting she had attended..?
She gasped in realization as she figure out. "You're Ciel Phantomhive!" She cries loudly, her eyes widening about the size of a quarter. He nodded in agreement. "You're correct," he shrugs casually.
Hazel nods and glanced around the condemned room.
"Why am I here?" she asks slowly and gulps as Ciel leans forward.
Sebastian looked over at Ciel. "Why is she here, young master?" Ciel smiles, a tiny little upturn on his lips.
Hazel knew; she was a assassin, an assassin's get killed--- a lot. Her family, for some damn reason, decided to kill people for money. How sick was that? And not only is it a successful business--- it is now, Hazel guesses, one of the most high-priced occupations in England. Sick.
But, it was her life. A life she couldn't change. She wish she could change it, but in reality, she couldn't.
"I thought it was pretty obvious." Ciel cocked his head to the side, his eyes (eye?) wandering around her face.
Hazel gulps. She couldn't even talk. "My.. my.. family's.. line of work?"
She glances towards the taller man, and for the millionth time, her breath stops. At that moment Sebastian looked at her. She bit her tongue so she couldn't gasp; he had red eyes.
Evil,
Deceiving,
Red eyes. It made her realize the emptiness that she felt in her heart. The lostness in her soul.
She felt like she was going to die; she probably was, for all she knew.
Ciel looked straight into her eyes.
Hazel held her breath.
"You killed my parents."
Hazel made a strangled noise. Killed his parents?
"What?!" She nearly screams. "I have damn well not killed your parents!"
Ciel makes a 'hmp' noise. "Your family has been in this line of business for generations. You are the best. You had to of had killed my family."
Hazel shakes her head.. "Look, Mr. Phantomhive, I have file after file of every single client I have ever associated with. I can positively tell you that I did not kill your parents," Sebastian raised a small eyebrow.
"You were in court last week, correct?" Ciel asks and stands straight. Hazel nodded silently.
"And that month before that?"
"Two months," She corrected automatically. "Two months. But, Ciel---" Hazel cautiously looked over at Sebastian, and if looks could kill, she'd be dead. "I was innocent in both those cases."
"You convinced them that you were innocent, but I am positive that you were not," Ciel says sharply and scowls. She could tell he was about to blow it, and she didn't want that.
Hazel bit her lip. "In all those cases, I was innocent. Those hadn't been my.. targets," Ciel sighed, massaging his temples. "Just confess and be done with this. I don't need anymore stress," Sebastian nodded in agreement. Hazel smiles proudly. "I will fight for my innocence," she says, "I have not killed your parents, and you cannot prove that I have ever associated with anyone in the Phantomhive family."
"I think I can see why she's always innocent," Ciel grumbled under his breath. "Stubborn," he mutters.
"Listen," Hazel says loudly, nudging at the rope around her wrists. "I am innocent. In all of those cases, I was. They had no ties to me and the victim," Ciel scoffs. "Oh, really?"
"Yes, really," Hazel was trying to convince.
Ciel heaves a deep sigh and turns around towards the door. "We'll discuss this later. I have a meeting to attend," and with that, Ciel and Sebastian left, leave Hazel completely speechless.

So. Yeah. Have fun with that.
