"Wait, what?" Dean said incredulously. "How? They were gone for 10 mintues!"

Cas walked into the room, obviously having heard the commotion Dean was making. "What is going on?" he said when he saw Deputy Singer at the door.

"Who are you?" Deputy Singer asked.

"I'm Gabriel's brother, Castiel. Is everything okay?" Cas asked, worry painted across his face.

"No," it was Dean who spoke this time. "Cas, there was an accident."

"is everyone okay?" The fear of losing another person close to him shone in his eye, and Dean could sse it clearly.

"If you boys would let me finish." Singer said, his patience thinning. "Both boys are alive, Gabriel seems to be hurt the worst, and Sam has suffered a broken arm and ankle. The both of you can get a ride to the hospital with me if you like."

As they rode to the hospital in silence, Dean contemplated his thoughts. Oh fuck, I hope Sammy is okay? First mom, now him. He can't be dead. I mean, the sheriff said all he has was a broken arm and ankle. I hope Gabe is okay, too.

When they got there, without even asking the deputy where the rooms were, Dean and Cas rushed up to the front desk and pounded the receptionist with questions. She calmly showed the boys to their brothers' rooms and went back to work.

"Sammy," Dean cried, on the verge of tears. "Sammy... Sam."

"H-hey, Dean," Sam replied shakily, putting on a brave smile. "I'm all right. You don't have to worry."

"Yeah, Sam, I do have to worry. You're my responsibility. You and I both know that dad won't be back anytime soon, so you're all I got." Dean said, rushing over to him. "You and I know damn well that Dad won't come running to check on you or me. It's just us. You just don't have to worry about me, Sammy."

"I know I don't have to worry about you, Dean. But right now, I'm worried about Gabe. Is he alright?"

"I haven't seen him yet, little bro. But don't worry about Gabriel right now. Just rest up so you can go home tomorrow." Dean tried to put on a brave face, but inside his heart was breaking. He just couldn't stand to see the one person who he whole-heartedly cared about and loved, in pain. "It's late and I'm going to go talk to Cas and see how Gabe is doing. Get to sleep, I'll see you in the morning."

Dean left the room, finally letting out all of the tears that had been burning his eyes. Why the hell am I crying? He's not dying. He'll be out tomorrow. Dean scolded himself as he made his way to Gabriel's room.

The sight was not exactly what Dean hd expected. They had been told that Gabriel had the worst of the injuries, but he didn't expect it to be this bad. Gabe was lying on the bed, unmoving, with tubes in his arms and a crying Cas at the side of his bed.

"No... No... not Gabe. He's all I have. You can't take him from me," Cas cried quietly. He hadn't heard Dean come in.

"Cas?" Dean said warily. "Are you all right?"

"Dean? When hwo long have you been there?" Cas said as he whipped his head around to look at Dean.

"Not very long. Is everything okay? How's he doing?"

"How do you think, Dean?" Cas shouted. "The doctors say he's in a coma, and they don't know when he'll wake up." He paused and looked down at his hands. "Dean, we've known each other for half a day, and you're asking me how my brother is doing after he and your brother got into a car accident. How did all of this happen? We've kissed in your car, gone to a movie, and been to a hospital, all within 4 hours." He stopped. "How did all of this happen?" He repeated more to himslef than to Dean.

"Cas, I don't know. But, I do know that right now, there is nothing we can do about your brother, and there's nothing I can do about Sam, so why don't we go and get something to eat, hunker down at my place for the night, and come back in the morning." Dean proposed in an attempt to get Cas out of the hospital.

"Dean, we have school in the morning." Cas stated quietly.

"Fuck school," Dean said, inching closer and pulling Cas into a hug. "It's Monday night, they won't miss us tomorrow."

"Dean, I can't leave Gabe though. I can't leave him here all by himself. It's not fair. To him or to me." Cas was silently crying by then end.

"All right. How about this?" Dean said, getting an idea. "I go get us some pizza, and we can stay here tonight. Sound like a plan?"

"Yeah, I guess so," Cas sniffed.

Dean pulled him into a hug and kissed the top of his head.

"Oh, and Dean?" Cas said, as Dean was walking out the door. "We need to talk when you get back."

Dean got in his Impala, drove to Pizza Hut, but when he got there, for some reason, he began to feel tears fall from his eyes. What the fuck? He thought. Why am I crying?

All he did as he silently wept was think about how Sammy was his responsibility and he let him get hurt. Then a call came. It was from Cas.

"Yeah, Cas? What is it?" He answered sounding scared. He cleared his throat. "Is everything all right?"

"Yes, Dean, everything is fine. But there is a man here from the state who wants to talk with you when you get back," Cas replied quietly. The man must be near him.

"Fuck. Okay, umm..." he paused. "Tell him I should be back in about 15 minutes."

"Okay, Dean, but hurry," and the line went dead.

Dammit, he thought angrily. What is going on today? This day has been wild from start to finish.

As soon as he got the pizza, he drove back to the hospital, anxious as to what he would find when he got there.
