Jordan wasn't feeling great about what they had after the effort to get Gary Hughes, but it was a little more than they had before. Spending yet another night at Kiera's place, he thought about the whole thing. Whoever orchestrated the bombing probably wanted the city to fall into disarray, but Jordan couldn't think of why. For that part, he needed more information.

The next morning when they sat at the little dining table and ate what they could make with what little was there, Jordan kept looking out the window. The city seemed to be continually getting worse, almost every ten minutes, three or four police cars sped by flashing their lights and blaring their sirens.

"It's going to get harder to get the information we need as the city gets worse."

Kiera nodded, "Vanessa's working hard on the city network, but people just aren't talking."

"We should get back over there and see if she has anything new."

They left, heading over to the construction site. When they arrived, Derrick was waiting near the front of the container, approaching when they came into view. He was flustered about something and Jordan didn't want to make it worse. "Are we just bringing in anyone now?"

"What do you mean?" Kiera asked.

"First you bring him here, now Vanessa has someone. Can I bring a chick around?"

"Who?"

"Some guy. He's in there with her right now. Here's the thing, he wants to talk to you." Derrick gestured to Jordan.

"What about?"

"I don't know and I don't care. If you want to go and find out, he's right in there, in the secret hideout."

Jordan left Kiera and Derrick to themselves and walked into the container. Vanessa was waiting with the stranger. Before Jordan could even say anything, the stranger got up, "Are you Jordan?"

"I am."

"I'm Tobias Munn. We need to talk."

Jordan looked at Vanessa, but she didn't seem weirded out or concerned. "About what?"

"It's hard to explain, bear with me. There's a man, Douglas Devers, he's a good friend of mine. He also has dreams of the future, and he dreamed of you. I need to take you to see him so he can help us out."

What is this guy serious? He had witnessed a lot of craziness in a short time, but a man with the ability to dream the future? That seemed like a bit much. "I'm sorry, I'm a little busy—"

"This is important. If we don't, we'll both be dead." The whole thing did sound farfetched, and Jordan might have dismissed it, if this man didn't seem to believe he was telling the truth. Jordan couldn't discern just how much of it was true, but he seemed to genuine in what he was saying.

He turned to Vanessa, "Do you have anything new?"

"No."

"Where is this man Douglas Devers?"

"West Chicago, I can take you there."

The dreams of some old man were the last thing on his mind now, but he didn't think this guy was going to leave him alone if he didn't at least humor him. He agreed. He could go, hear the crazy old coot out and turn him down, and get back here.

Tobias followed Jordan away from the construction site, he was surprised it had been that easy. On the street, Tobias started to walk.
