"Well, we've already played the charming games that Foster suggested, so....I got nothing." Keefe said while smirking at Sophie. All Sophie did in response was roll her eyes. It seemed to be a common theme when Keefe was speaking.
"What about base quest?" Fitz asked, and was immediately responded by a loud "NO!" From everyone in the room but Sophie.
"Whoever is on Sophie's team automatically wins!! Unless I'm on her team, then I'll play." Biana said while crossing her arms.
"Me too." Dex replied, and everyone started arguing on who would be on Sophie's team.
"Okay, okay. We won't play base quest." Fitz shouted, bringing the room to a silence.
"Yeah, love the attention you guys are giving me, but I think I'm gonna have a migraine from that," Sophie added.
"So then what do we play?" Linh shyly asked.
"My mom has a few board games we can play, I can quickly go grab some." Dex suggested.
"Thanks Dex!" Sophie said as Dex left the room to the leap master. After a while of bickering, Fits transmitted a question to Sophie.
I've been wondering, when are we gonna tell our families and friends that we're a.... thing? He asked while subtly blushing at the "thing" part.
Um...We can both inform our families when we feel like it and transmit when we do, and then once we tell our families then we can tell all of our friends. Sophie suggested.
Good idea. Sad that it's the last day we can be over.
Yeah, it seemed like it lasted forever. They were interrupted by Dex entering the room.
"I got Candyland, Scrabble, Uno, and Pictionary. What do we want to play first?" Dex asked while setting the games down on the floor.
"Ooh, I played Scrabble all the time with my human family! Let's play that first!!" Sophie exclaimed, bringing back the memories of living with her family.
"Great idea Sophie," Biana said, "but how exactly do we play this game?"
Sophie quickly explained the game and once everyone understood the game they started playing.
They played one round of the game, and Keefe won, followed by a win by Fitz in UNO, a win for Tam in Candyland, and a win by Biana and Sophie in separate rounds of Pictionary. After what seemed like ages of playing the exciting games, her friends had to leave, and the memories of being unmatchable slowly crept back to reality with every person that left.
After drowning in the remembrance of being unmatchable, Sophie decided to take her iPod and went to Cala's Panakes tree, sitting down and listening to an all to familiar song. It was the saint she'd listen to when in her room after another day of being bullied by people two feet taller than her. The song was titled "it's gonna be okay," by the Piano Guys. She closed her eyes listening to the song over and over again, not noticing someone sitting next to her the fifth time she listened to it. She opened her eyes to see a pair of teal eyes staring right back at her.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you," Fitz reassured, "I forgot something here and saw you were here, so I decided to join you. You looked to peaceful I couldn't spoil it."
"Oh, it's fine," Sophie said while blushing.
"What are you listening to?" Fitz asked curiously.
Sophie unplugged the earbuds and the song was now heard by the two of them. After a while another song came on, this time it was an instrumental of the song "the old favorite" by The Gloaming. Fitz stood up, offering his hand to Sophie.
"Will you take this dance?" Fitz pleaded with a gleam in his eyes. Sophie took his hand and the my started to dance to the slow music of the song. Sophie kept Fitz's gaze the whole entire time. The moonlight shone through the tree, glowing on Fitz's face, which was noticeably close to Sophie's. As the song came to an end, Fitz pulled Sophie close in his embrace, and kissed Sophie, making her heart flutter at the feeling of his lips against hers. They stayed like that for what felt like forever, finally breaking free as a new song came on. Fitz's eyes were sparkling as they stopped the music and sat back down. Sophie's head rested on Fitz's shoulder as he stroked her back. After a long period of silence, Fitz asked Sophie an important question.
"Are you gonna have a Winnowing Gala?"
