"Wake up, sweet heart, it's midterms today," a sweet voice whispered, and Sophie jolted awake at the sound "midterms."
"Midterms?" Sophie asked.
"Yup. You and Fitz spent most of your time in the healing center," Edaline stopped with slight tears in her eyes, but they quickly washed away as she shook it off and continued "You both have caught up enough that you're sure to pass. Now hurry up and get dressed!"
Sophie rushes to get her uniform and rush to the leap master, completely forgetting to eat anything for breakfast.
Sophie arrived at Foxfire, the usual decorations up for midterms. She walked inside to see all her friends in the usual hangout. Biana squealed as quiet as she could when she saw Sophie, and she started running towards her.
"How was it? How was it? HOW WAS IT?!?" Biana asked impatiently.
"How was what?" Sophie asked playing oblivious. Well, not much of playing at all, she was too tired she had no idea what Biana was talking about.
"Sophie don't play dumb. How was the date with Fitz?" Biana rolled her eyes, a smile slowly forming on her lips. When she said "date with Fitz" almost all the girls within earshot turned their heads towards the two.
"It was... fun," Sophie said, grinning at her best friends expression. She looked like that one painting called "the scream" without the hands to her face. Scratch that, her hands are against her face.
"Sophie, I need details. DETAILS!!" Biana said, looking slightly impatient.
They were now at their lockers, licking it to open. The taste was mallow-melt, finally a great one. "Fine, we went to a park in Mysterium and had a picnic while looking at the stars." Sophie remembered that Stina had come and ruined it, the thought of Stina being there have Sophie a nasty face.
"What's wrong? Is it a bad taste today?" Biana asked, concerned about Sophie's change in mood.
"No, it's mallowmelt. It's just that Stina had to come in and ruin everything."
"What did she do?" Biana asked, her jaw slightly clenched. Sophie explained everything, and with each word Biana seemed to boil with even more rage than before.
"That bratty no-good evil witch! I hope she falls of a cliff." Biana said, her face tomato red. Not from embarrassment, but from rage.
"Biana. Calm down, okay? It didn't effect us. We all know that she's a bratty witch, so why fall under her spell?" Sophie comforted Biana.
"You're Right. Im sorry, i shouldn't have been that way. I just...she's so mean and—"
"Yes, but that doesn't mean we have to be rude back. Trust me. After months of talking back to her, I was just getting mad about a simple sentence. She helped with the alicorns, and so I have some—the smallest amount—of respect for her. She's just jealous, so she takes it out on the cool peeps." Saying the last sentence Sophie playfully jabbed Biana shoulder.
"Yeah you're right. Oh! Before I forget, here is you're present!" Biana handed Sophie a small purple box tied with a deep blue ribbon. "I was thinking we could all go to my house and open the presents we got from 'the gang,'" Biana suggested.
"That's great! I'll be over after school. Bye Biana!" Sophie said, heading over to her adopted parents.
