12. Messed Up

You had to agree to go on a date with Minhyuk, and be his girlfriend even though you wanted none of it.

But you didn't want to upset or anger Taehyung any more, because he didn't like you in the first place and declining his good friend was not the best option at this point.

You felt someone watching you, and turned back during class, only to see Jungkook staring at you unenthusiastically.

It was odd and surprising. He always had either a smirk or a smile for you, but this time was different. He looked different...

"I don't know."

"Mickey Mouse."

"Okay. Now focus on your work." You said while rolling your eyes.

"What duck moves on two legs?"

"I-- wait, Donald Duck?" You asked.

Instead of a smile from Jungkook, you got a smack on your head.

"Ouch! What was that for?" You asked.

"All ducks walk on two legs, dipshit."

You rolled your eyes again. You both were in the living room, studying and trying to help Jungkook avoid getting 4 out of 100 in the next English test. It had been a week and a half since your hell began. You had to accept Minhyuk and do everything he told you to do, all for the sake of Jungkook, Taehyung and your new family.

"Y/N, are you perhaps a little sad?"

"Uhh? Why? No, I'm fine."

"You look off, and a bit pale. Are you sure you're not sick?"

"Yep, I'm not sick. I'm fine, I'm telling you. Let's focus on this, okay?" You tried to change the subject.
But Jungkook closed the book before you could even protest.

"What are you doing?"

"If you aren't comfortable telling me anything, please say it in my face. Don't change the subject." He got up.

"But Jungkook--"

He cut you off by walking towards the kitchen.

"I can't, Jungkook. You'll hate me if I do." You muttered to yourself.
