I think we need to stop looking, Melissa." Johnathan said; his hand extending to Melissa's shoulder before  withdrawing it back to his side.

"What are you saying?" Melissa yelled back. "I should stop looking for my best friend? That has the clues and all of the little evidence we've gathered so far?" An instant glare was thrown his way.

"I-I just..." He tried to say and at once, Melissa raised a hand in objection. "She was lost because of you in the first place. You have no right to say q word here!" She shouted. "Just leave me to look for her. If you don't want to look for her, you can go back to that cage." She spat out.

Her mother always spoke of forgiveness; how God, through Jesus and his sacrifice, forgave every soul of their wrongdoings.

How Jesus himself had to give his life for people to be forgiven and free from their sins.

No matter the analogy she put forward to my adolescent self, forgiveness never seemed like something I even had; talk less of giving.

Maybe I was a slightly difficult person with a good heart anyone would see through my nature. But I could do anything but forgive some sins.

Especially not his sins.

Seating right behind him in the vehicle I knew was his, a sharp pain kept tugging deep in my stomach. I'd looked away from him and fixed my gaze on on only my injured friend's body — trying to soothe her as I avoided every ounce of contact with this devil.
