(This was a long time ago and I never got a response on how it should be written so I just did whatever. Flip is the pink inkling girl on the cover of splatoon, similar to how Gloves is the male character (she is not considered Olive's oc). The universe is SplatRoad's universe)

.

"Come on Nana, we're going to be late!" a pink inkling girl shouted.

"I know Flip, I know!!"

Flip and Nana were running through the streets of Inkopolis, though it wasn't Inkopolis square. A new smoothie bar had opened up, and the two wanted to get there as soon as possible to try it out. They'd been best friends ever since they met up after peace was made with the Skylings. Nana had convinced Rider to let Flip join the Squidbeak Splatoon when the group went to the Hero Central, and since then the two had bonded even more.

"It is right there!" Nana said, pointing ahead to a sign.

As the two approached it however, they soon noticed just how many people were there. Standing by the door of the place was a whole line of cephalopods, jellies, fish, and more. The two could also see that there were more creatures inside, though several were also leaving the place to make space for others.

"Awww, dang it! There's a line!" Flip whined.

"Well, let us get in the back of the line so that we can wait!" Nana replied cheerfully.

As the two went to the back, Flip peeped ahead. It looked really long, and if she had to guess, there were at least 30+ people there. She groaned angrily as she dragged her hands down her face, but then she got an idea.

"Maybe we can cut in line..." Flip mumbled.

"I do not think that would be the best course of action..." Nana said worriedly.

Naturally, Flip ignored what Nana had said, and went right ahead. She pretended that she was just passerby looking around, then wove herself into the line. Nana watched anxiously, not wanting to call Flip out on her actions for fear of her friend getting mad at her. This trick worked for a while, surprisingly, because a lot of people were on their phones. It worked, that is...until Flip attempted to cut in front of a colossal squid in a torn, dark purple vest.

"Hey! Get in the back of the line and wait like the rest of these scrubs!" he shouted.

Flip froze upon being caught, but she knew she didn't have to give up now. She turned around to face the colossal, who was at least two feet taller than her, and grinned smugly.

"Make me."

Before she could react, a hand was slapped across her face, and her hat flew off. She only had enough time to see the colossal's (even smugger) confident expression before she was pushed to the ground.

"If you can't behave, I guess I'll just have to make you-"

"STOP!"

Nana ran in between the colossal and Flip.

"Please do not fight! My friend did not mean to do that, and she will not do it again! I did not know she was doing it, and we will be more mindful next time!" she cried.

"You'd BETTER watch it, or else you're going to get a worse beating the next time you try," the cyan colossal snarled.

He then turned around and caught up with the line as it moved up a significant amount. Nana ran over and grabbed Flip's hat, returning it back to her. The two then went back to the back of the line, which hadn't gained many people since they'd left.

"Thanks. I shouldn't have done that. Sorry," Flip said as she put the hat back on her head.

She still wanted revenge on that guy, though. One day when Nana wasn't with her, she swore she'd beat him up.

"Well the important part is that you learned your lesson," Nana said. "At least...I hope you have learned."

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. I'm glad I met someone like you," Flip smiled. "I could've been calamari if it hadn't been for you."

"Me too," Nana replied happily. "And you're welcome."

The line lessened to about 10 people over time, as it seemed that the workers in the cafe were going really fast. Flip didn't bother any more people, and struck up a conversation with Nana about hobbies. Time flew by in no time, and the two got into the building. They had no more encounters with rude people, and ordered their drinks. Flip got a pomegranite/dragonfruit drink, and Nana ordered a strawberry/cherry smoothie. As the two waited for their orders, they struck up another conversation.

"Hey, do you think you like anyone? Like a crush?" Flip asked. "Not just from the squidbeak, it can be anyone."

"Do I like someone? Not that I know of...." Nana replied. "Why, what is this for?"

"Eh, just curious. I don't really have a crush on anyone either."

"Do you think we would make a great pair? As in, more than friends?" Nana asked.

Flip thought for a moment.

"Maybe. I haven't really considered girls yet, but if I did, you could be one. Honestly though, I feel like it would just be awkward."

"Well that is okay! You take your time and make your decisions when you need to! I will be here to help you as best I can, no matter what!" Nana replied.

"Thanks. Imagine if I hadn't met you, hah..."

"Well, that would certainly be unfortunate. After all, you-"

Before Nana could finish, their number was called and they had to go up and get their order. They then left the place once they got their drinks, so that other people could walk in. They drank as they walked back towards Inkopolis Square.

"Man, these things are GOOD! It was well worth the wait..." Flip exclaimed, satisfied.

"I agree," Nana replied, with slightly less enthusiasm.

"Were you gonna finish that sentence?" Flip asked.

"What sentence?"

"Something about being unfortunate?"

Nana paused as the two walked, but shook her head.

"That was nothing really important. It is okay."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

"Alright..."

And so the two kept walking through Inkopolis together.
