Sorry if this isn't the best, COVID has affected all of us 😔
It wasn't everyday you got to go to Eve's art gallery for free. In fact, it was hardly at all.
Zuke and Mayday had been personally invited by Eve to make up for the whole Rock vs EDM fiasco. Zuke wasn't so sure, but Mayday assured him that everything would be fine. After all, him and Eve had made up the last time they saw each other. As the two had entered, Eve greeted both, and they made their way in. Zuke had Mayday promise to him that she wouldn't go haywire and destroy, climb on, or mess with any of Eve's artwork, and she'd agreed.
Eve had changed up her gallery since their last visit here. Sure, it still had the same themes of limbs and eyes and such, but there were new pieces to adore. Reds and Blues woven in and out of each other to portray emotion, Greens and Yellows forming patterns of all sorts. Even if Mayday hardly understood it, she was still willing to try and enjoy it for the sake of making up. Zuke also tried to explain things to her a little bit.
They walked on through the perfectly clean hallways of the museum, though their lack of discussion made things a little awkward. They talked, but then it would be followed by silence as they moved on from one description to the next art piece. Up ahead was something that looked like two hands reaching out towards each other. One was flat on the platform it was on, and the other was higher up, the two connected at the fingertips and supported by clear pillar-like structures. Mayday gasped as she saw it and ran up to it.
"Hey! This one reminds me of what happened just last week!" Mayday exclaimed happily, pointing to the statue.
Oh yeah, about that. It had been about a week since Zuke...fused with Rin. The thought of it kept him awake at night, but he never said anything about it because he believed Mayday would poke fun at him or talk nonstop about 1010 as a whole.
"Last week? What is this..."last week" event that my art piece reminds you of?" Eve inquired.
Mayday wasted no time in explaining. Or at least, trying to.
"Oh, you see, we were flying on Neon J's airship and I was being an idiot and I fell off it and-"
"Okay, okay, that's enough May..." Zuke interrupted, not wanting to explain fusion to Eve in case she got the wrong idea.
"What?! But I just started!"
"Yes, Zuke. It is interesting to me, but...if you insist on keeping the eye hidden behind its lids, I shall not push further," Eve stated.
Zuke sighed with relief. It was at least an improvement of her letting go from the past she had with him. At the moment, she was now showing off her newer pieces to Mayday, trying to get her to understand them. Zuke smiled, as it was kind of fun to see their antics. But maybe that's all they needed, some bonding time.
"Hey, I'm gonna go check out something I saw in the other room. I'll be back with you in a few minutes, okay?" he asked.
"Sure! Be careful!" Mayday replied, with Eve hesitating at first, but then nodding in agreement.
Zuke then left the room the group was in, leaving Mayday and Eve alone.
"I still don't get what this means," Mayday resumed. "You said this art is supposed to represent freedom and joy, but all I see is droplets of paint everywhere and a hand."
"But that is exactly the point! The hand here is trying to reach out and grasp the air, and the droplets that fly by show the things that are already free in the air, free to fly!"
