(Once again based on an rp me and her and OpalInkling did. Ian is Opal's oc, and we made it a bit of a joke to ship Spyke with him because the two hated each other)

"This is all your fault!"

"All MY fault?! You're the one who got salty over some turf war!"

"Did not!"

"Did too!"

"Whatever!"

Two male inklings were sitting in a cave as it rained outside. Ian was purple/indigo colored inkling with two tentacles brushed to the side and the other four on the back of his head, his skin neither super tan or pale white, just in between. He also wore a gray hoodie, blue denim jeans, and red and white sneakers. Spyke was a dark green colored inkling with Inkopolis Square's spiky haircut, and he had dark skin as well. He wore aviators over his eyes to hide them, a red and white sports jersey, torn blue jeans, and punk blacks. To back up a little, Ian and his turf team had come across Spyke wandering around Inkopolis without his other goons. For context, Spyke belonged to a turf team known as the Wave Crashers, who were notorious for bullying weaker teams and individuals by using mostly their size and strength as intimidation factors.

Ian, who naturally disliked these kinds of people, had head about them from other friends of his, and had challenged Spyke to a turf war against his own team. Spyke was teamed with 3 random players while Ian had his whole team with him (which consisted of Opal, Rem, and Lavender). Somehow though, Ian had lost, and it wasn't even because of Spyke, but because some stupid player kept spawn camping his team. Spyke had then proceeded to make fun of him about it, and prompted a chase that led the two out of Inkopolis and into the forest outskirts. Despite Ian's teammates warnings, he'd gone in anyway after his temper shot through the roof. He was just like that.

The two had then realized how far they had gone, but before they could head back, it had started raining. Not wanting to deal with all that water on the way back, the two had sought the nearest shelter they could: an empty cave that was filled with batfish before Ian screamed in anger and they all flew away. So now here they sat, as a storm raged on outside. They were sitting as far away from each other as they could, and neither of them were ready to say anything. They were too mad at each other to even bother.

Then the thunder came. It shook the sky with a loud crackle, like someone was rolling something heavy but magnified. Spyke shuddered at this, but remained quiet. He wasn't about to let this puny kid make fun of him for something as stupid as thunder. He was a giant squid in comparison to this regular squid, he was the stronger one (well, he was 6ft tall in comparison to Ian being 5ft 9in).

Ian flinched too, and looked away as lightning flashed across the sky. Thunder accompanied it with a loud CRASH, and Ian was now really close to hiding in his hoodie as a squid. Yeah sure thunder wasn't really a threat, and it wasn't like lightning was going to electrocute them, but sounds could still be scary. He reached into his phone pocket to contact his team, but found that it was dead. Spyke must've had the same issue, or he'd probably have called his team to pick him (and him alone) up by now.

"When this is done, I want a rematch," Ian mumbled.

"What was that? Spyke asked as he raised his head, bored already and waiting for something to entertain him.

"I want a rematch," Ian snarled louder, because if Spyke was going to mock him for it, he needed to know he wasn't gonna back down.

Spyke simply scoffed with a smug smile.

"Why?"

"Because I...it wasn't fair, we...you..."

"To impress your girlfriend?"

The two had people they crushed on. Ian crushed on his octoling childhood friend Minty, and Spyke crushed on...this tall inkling girl with black ink and long tentacles. Ian didn't remember the entire monologue Spyke had went on that one other time the two had met with other people. He also didn't think Spyke had mentioned a name.

"NO! She wasn't even there!" Ian shouted.

"You sure?" Spyke grinned.

"Shuck you."

Just then, a loud BANG went off in the sky. It was just thunder again, but lightning flashed with it, and Ian jumped out of being startled. Spyke shrunk back a little too.

"Holy SQUIT that was loud," Ian hissed.

"Yeah...it was..."

Ian looked up at Spyke. The lightning reflected off his aviators, so it was hard to see what expression his eyes were showing. The rest of his face seemed to be a neutral stare, mouth pressed into a thin line as if he was thinking about something. Sometimes, Ian wished he knew what Spyke's eyes looked like...if he had any. He shook his head to snap himself out of his thoughts.

Ian was now cold, and the hoodie didn't really help. There were winds blowing outside now along with the rain, and sometimes the wind would blow into the cave...it wasn't nice. Ian got an idea of what to do, but paused for a second. He sighed, and slowly began to take off his gray hoodie. Spyke noticed.

"Oh, so you're gonna take your clothes off now? Well I-"

"I'm NOT gonna do what you think I'm gonna do, you dumb sea bass," Ian growled.

He soon took it off entirely, revealing a purple shirt underneath that he was still wearing. He bunched it up into a small nest shape and laid it down on the dry stone floor of the cave. Ian was about to shift into squid form, but something stopped him.

"Can I..."

Ian looked up. Spyke looked...hesitant. Was this a weakness? Was he finally able to strike back?

"Well, nevermind, I don't need your stupid hrmdlfbrdr...." Spyke grumbled, getting quieter at what Ian assumed was the word "hoodie".

"Oh? Is the big bad giant squid COLD?" Ian asked, raising an eyebrow and grinning smugly.

"Shut up!"

"You were the one mocking me, why the shell should I?"

Spyke just gave him a glare.

"Fine."

"Thought so," Ian replied.

He crawled into his hoodie nest without another word. It was way better than his previous situation, and Ian soon found himself ready to go to sleep in such a cozy place. He looked up to get one last glimpse of Spyke, and saw that he was once again staring out into the storm with a straight face. Ian kind of felt...bad for him. He didn't want to, but he couldn't help it now that he had a little control over the situation.

Well, surely inviting him over wouldn't hurt? The most he'd get would be verbal teases and threats, since neither of them were going to splat each other without a respawn point and have murder on their hands. It would only be this once anyway.

"I'm still kinda cold," Ian said, though his voice was quieter now that he was a small squid.

"What was that?" Spyke asked, though he actually didn't hear Ian and wasn't messing with him.

"I'm sooooo cold! It's a shame there's noooothing else around here that produces heeeeeaaat!" Ian said sarcastically and much more loudly.

"You just want me over there, don't you?"

"Hmph."

Spyke stood up and walked over. He flopped into a squid as he neared the hoodie and hopped in, also nestling into it as well. It WAS warm, way better than just sitting in the cold.

"This does NOT make us on good terms, and I still want a rematch," Ian warned.

"Alright. Sure. Whatever," Spyke smiled, as if he didn't believe him. Ian just sighed.

And so, the two squids nestled together in the back of Ian's hoodie, dozing off as they waited for the storm to pass.
