It had been two weeks since the flight to Ohio, two weeks since the shenanigans at Bobby Mackey's, and two weeks since Shane became the bane of Evan's existence once again. So, in the grand scheme of things, it hasn't been that long.

Anyway—

The moment he returned to the office, Shane avoided Evan like the plague, only talking to her when necessary. Well, actually, he liked plagues—he was a demon with standards—so that was probably the wrong analogy.

But, you get the point.

Again, avoiding her wasn't an easy task. She was an intern, after all, running around, doing errands, and most importantly, keeping an eye on him and Ryan.

Fuck guardian angels.

No, he wouldn't be able to get rid of her, at least, not yet.

——

It was Friday afternoon, around 1:40, and Shane, Ryan, and a few of their other co-workers were gathered in the lounge. Evan happened to be there, too, making coffee, not for herself but for Devon who "would really appreciate it" if Evan made her coffee.

Frankly, Evan didn't mind.

"It's kinda short notice," Ryan said, "but are any of you guys free for a spur of the moment movie marathon at my apartment tonight?"

TJ shook his head. "Can't. I'm supposed to take Barnaby and Piper to the vet after work today then I'm taking Kate to dinner."

"Yeah, I can't either." Shane stretched, glancing back at Evan. "I have a date with Sara tonight. Sorry, Ryan."

A look of confusion crossed Ryan's face. "Wait, I thought..."

"We were taking a break," Shane explained. "We got back together a week ago."

"Oh, okay," Ryan said, scratching the back of his neck. "Well, what about you, Mark?"

"Who else is going?" Mark asked. "I'm assuming you asked other people?"

"Yeah, Devon, Jake, uh, Anthony, um..."

"Sure, I'll come."

Shane took a sip of his coffee. "You know what, I'll ask Sara if she's up to some movies and maybe we'll swing by later."
