Not on this Earth

I could feel the breeze carry me as I shot down the city streets. No gravity held me down as I spiraled up into the sky and blasted through the clouds. After so many tweaks to my suit, I could breathe and feel like myself as I soared toward the Earth's magnetic field. As I beamed higher, an aura surrounded my body to shield me from losing air. The meteor was falling fast as I shot across the stars and blasted through the rock as it crashed into a million pieces. But then something unbelievable happened. It wasn't just any meteor. There was something in it. Or rather someone. The meteor was detected as a threat to Central City. And maybe it still was. Because after destroying it into a million pieces, the aircraft sped toward Earth as I darted toward it. All I could do was slow it down. I managed to salvage it as I safely landed on a field. As I opened the pod, a teenage boy about my age opened his eyes as he asked me.

"What planet is this?"

"Earth," I answered.

"Which Earth?" he climbed out of the pod.

I'm sorry, what? Which Earth? I'm sorry, but when are there other Earths?

"The one between Venus and Mars," I informed, hoping it was accurate enough to answer his question.

The boy looked confused as his eyes rambled around at the scenery of green grass and daisies. Clouds began to darken as the sun was ready to settle into a slumber. I suddenly felt connected to the weather.

"Where is she?" he blatantly wondered.

"Who?"

"Supergirl," he added.

Before I could get another word in, he sped away. Whoever this guy was, I raced after him and stopped him from getting anywhere.

"What are you?" I asked.

"Me? What are you? Some alien?"

"Last time I checked, I was born on this planet. Were you?"

"Just stay out of my way, I need to get to Supergirl."

He raced off again, and I kept up with him. He nudged me away but I took him with me and we went flying as we crash landed.

"Ow," I let out.

"What is wrong with you?" he demanded.

Honestly, everything. And I don't know where to start.

"What don't you get?" he added.

"You, clearly. You just sped off without even considering --"

He disappeared in front of me mid sentence as I continued to add, "I could help you find her."

"I could have let him crash land and die," I breathed out of my words as I shot back to STAR Labs.

After a little celebration with my super friends, including the mention of a surprise I discovered - that being the inconsiderate jerk face I found inside of the meteor - I headed back home to bench myself from the action. As I stopped at a convenience store to grab a drink, I saw him watching me. The kid from the pod. He was following me. And I didn't know why. One thing I knew for sure, I didn't want him to follow me home. Not after what happened. As I paid and left the store, I walked down an alley that was only one block away from mine. It was a shortcut that I took to get to my block, except I hardly used it because of how many times I almost got mugged. Using it at night was always a scary thought but I knew I could handle my own. I darted across the wall and made my way behind him.

"What the--"

"Why are you following me?" I confronted him as he seemed somewhat bewildered despite the fact that he saw me use them earlier.
