Fate of Destiny

Life, it was all but a blur. A figure of speech that it was short. One that stood true to its toes. You would think that after all the trauma you've been exposed to in life, you would be next. All this real shit that happens, you realize just how lucky you are. How good you really have it. Until, bam! Shit goes down. And there's nothing you can do about it. If you had the power to go back in time and change it all, would you? But knowing how many times the timeline has been screwed over, would you still do it? I guess it all depends on destiny. But whatever really is destiny when life itself is expected to end? Guess standing on the edge of a hole in the ground at the cemetery puts those thoughts in your head. Nothing really made sense after they went. How do you know life when you grew up with them in it the whole time? How is it so fucking easy to move on from that? One thing was for sure, it wasn't.

It all started a month ago, when I found him. Alejandro. My brother. My oldest sibling. The wisest. The one I always wanted to turn out like. He was the one I always admired. The Flash found him. He was just like him. A metahuman. Busting down the doors into a building that caught on fire, he was the cause of it. And not by intention. At first, they placed him in the pipeline. Of course, me being me, I approached him. I couldn't place doubt it in them. It was him. My brother. My only brother. The first born child in the family. I hadn't known of his abilities until now. Up until now, I always thought of him as the most exceptional person I knew. Cisco would get mad if I said that out loud, but he would understand. He knows what it's like. Well, at least he did. Cisco and I, we were the shadows behind the favourite child. Or the first born. However you want to put it. Anyway, when I went down there, he was as surprised as I was that we were both metas.

"Anashé, you're... you're Silver Vixen," he pulled himself up.

I stood there unmasked leaning against the glass house he was bound to.

"How did this happen?" his breath came onto the surface between us.

"The particle accelerator. How else do you think this happened?" I snapped a little. I took a deep breath before I lost it. "I'm your best bet of getting out of here. So, why don't you tell me what happened? Why did you hurt all those people?"

"I didn't mean to, Ana. It was an accident. I don't have control over this. It just kept on coming and going since the night of the... uh Enlightenment?" he seemed unsure. "I think that's what they're calling it."

"Yeah, that's what they're calling it," I confirmed. "So, what happened last night then?" I crossed my arms with impatience. He was lucky I wasn't in there with him. Mind you, I don't think they would place me in the same cell as my brother. I don't know whose life would be more at stake.

"I went to meet a friend. Johnny Crevow. He said he could help me. But when I went there, he was nowhere to be found. I got mad and lost control of my powers then the place went kaboom," his hands did a great job mimicking the effects of what happened in the building. Wasn't sure to be impressed or roll my eyes. "Please, help me find him, Ana. We would make a great team together."

"I'll get the team to help find him. But right now, you should probably get some rest. I'll keep you updated."

I walked away to close the door before he called out to me one last thing. "Wait," I turned around to watch the words come out of his mouth as he sounded alert, "you need to be careful of Johnny. He can be quite manipulative. Just, be careful, Anashé."

"I will be," I said just as I closed the door and headed back out to the vortex.

As I gave the team the details Alejandro spared, Cisco managed to pull up the guy he mentioned. Johnny Crevow. Before working at Mercury Labs, he worked in the place where I stood. STAR Labs. After his relocation due to the accelerator explosion, he lost his pregnant wife on the night of and had to fend for his only daughter and himself since then. Despite my sympathy, I was looking for an excuse to not like the guy. And then Cisco said the magic words.
