Disappearing act

Scarlet pov.

I still didn't know why I was following this guy outside but I did he was walking with long strides towards their vehicles.I had to almost break into a jog to catch up with him.Then he stopped at the black suv and suddenly turned my way.
He narrowed his eyed his lips in a thin line making me stop in my tracks.

"Hey uhm Carson are you ok" his face softened for second before he replied with a clipped tone "Im ok just need some air"

I was about to say something when my phone began to ring great probably my friend Emma was supposed to meet her.When I look up from my bag Carson was gone like what the ... nobody just disappears like that.

"Hey Scarlet glad you could make it" Em says sarcasticly when I took a seat next to her."Like I'd miss the Earth shaker crusher at Montie's " I grin totally ignoring her attitude.

We made small talk about stuff while sipping our drink then Em looks up hot dam she says nodding towards the door "his hot and is looking right at us " she finishes while checking her makeup.
I scoffed but when I caught Carson's eyes I almost spilled my drink yes I take of the cover because I stirr the fruit pieces.Suddenly his at our table followed by the blonde guy making Em bubble about something but I blink realizing shes talking to me "what " she kicks me under the table while leaning in "hotstuff and his hot friend wants to join us and for the love of God say yes" she pulls away smiling sweetly towards the guys.

Sure take a seat guys I grin my eyes locked with Carson who returns it with one showing pearly whites.Wonder what the sudden change in his mood is about but I pushed it aside for now.

"So where are you guys from cause y'all sure ain't from around here" Em starts while giving them appreciative looks. "Canada" the blonde answers."I understand "Em winks , mysterious are we she says  smiling.Not at all Carson adds this is my friend Jace and we already met he finishes meting my eyes again."What... you oh that's why you were so late huh" Em nudged me playfully. I blushed a little but laughed it off "No M was "

"Im Emma,  Scarlet's best friend ."Nice to meet you Jace says taking her hand while Carson just nods.

Emma and Jace were doing most of the talking while Carson and I mostly just put in a few words while just checking each other out it even felt like a dubble date.

Carson offered to walk me home which I accepted gladly I didn't even hide the smile on my face.

The walk was mostly silenced but comfortable the heat from Carson's hand seem to spread all over my body making me feel safe.

"Scarlet " he breaths coming to a stop just a few houses from mine I look up into his handsome face he cupped my face letting his warm breath wash over my face which I know is probably tomato red.He looks deep into my eyes "I cant believe I found you " he smiles genuinely his eyes almost seem to glow "Do you want to go on a date with me tomorrow ?"

"Yes " I say a little too quickly making me my blush permanent but he just chuckles while rubbing my arm making sparks dance on my skin, "good I'll pick you up at 8 "I nod because my throat feels dry.

Tv room finding my mom fast asleep on the couch with a Danielle Steel novel in her lap I cover her with a blanket than kiss her on her fourhead good night.
