Zack pov

Making my way into Newtown I can't help but smile a little. Its been years since I've been here but some things are still the same. The peace and quite and raw beauty of a small town. But I missed the people mostly thats why im on my way to my aunts house right now. She doesn't even know im coming but she'll definitely appreciate the surprise. Man my niece must be all grown up by now. Hope she'll still remember me. Stopping at Joe's first I quickly made my way inside. Mmm man even smells the same. Walking towards the counter I scane the place seeing a few familiar faces and some not. Some turning in their seats stare at the long last stranger. A squeal of recognition made me grin. "Zack oh my...gosh where did you come from, I meen how are you?" Emily rushes out while hugging me. Pulling back from her I could see from the subtle curves of her body she also has 'grown up'. And by the sparkles in her eyes still has that crush on me after all this time.Now I could not resist. With mishief in my eyes I grinned before replying taking a step closer. "Em dont you see? I start looking her right in the eyes tilting her head up. "I came back for you because no matter where i went my heart was always here with you." I say sincerely. I schooled my expresstion looking as serious as the pope. Em seemed taken aback at first, then began to blush previously. "Well you see Zack im kinda seeing some ...someone right now." She says strutering before looking down. I couldn't take it anymore and burst out laughing. Thats when she narrowed her eyes at me before slapping me on my shoulder that I hardly felt she was about to mess with my hair but I caught her wrist pulling her close again hugging her once again. After my laughter died down leaned closer to whisper near her ear. " I really missed you guys Em." I almost croak .Smiling softky she pulls away slowly. "Same here now what can I get you cityboy? " Just water im heading to my aunts house from here. " Oh she's gonna be over the moon and so will your cousins." Seeing my confused face she clarifies. " Scarlet has a little brother now his names Noah you'll love him. I nodd taking a swig of the water. " Cool pendant." She states gesturing to my chest. Looking down i rub it absently. "A gift." I say as means of explanation. But she was already busy pouring somebody a drink then got called away by a customer. Releasing a sign I tugg Orine inside my shirt. No need to think about that here im home. Standing up a hand clasp on my shoulder firmly. " Not gonna greet your old boss?" The gruff voice questions. Turning around I face none other then Joe himself. " There he is mister Newtown himself." Joe chuckles at my past time reference too a competition he won years ago. " Yeah and dont you forget it ." He chimes. Joe releases my shoulder takes a step back looking me up and down. " Your old man through and through." He says. I smile sheepishly ignoring the twinch in my gut at the mention of my dad. God rest his soul. Joe squeezes my shoulder at my sullen look. But i quickly smile again but he nods in understanding cause thats just how he is. " Heading over too Maria's ?" He questions almost too expectingly I almost laugh but caught myself. "Yes sir about time I visited them." Joe nods at me slowly with furrowed brows. "About time ya'll reconnected." I didn't have to answer because we both knew what he was refering too. But i had to ask. "How are they Joe? " He rubs his chin then lets his hands fall at his sides. "Getting there things are looking up. And they know wer'e always here for them. We take care of our own." He states proudly. Shaking his hand I thank him before saying my goodbyes. Passing a table I gave Em a small wave but she walks over putting her ordering book away she hands me a folded paper that I put in my pocket. "Dont be a stranger ok?" Tapping my front pocket I gave her a sly smile which she surprisingly returned." Good best get going then before the full moon beast gets you." She teases. "A cityboy dont believe in small town folklore Em." Nodding her head at me she mocks agreeing with me. "Just saying scardy cat coz I'll walk you out." She finishes sweetly."Like im scared." I stuck my tongue out at her. Noticing her shocked face before she laughs. "Can't believe you just did that. But I see the old Zack is still there." She chuckles. We hug again before she goes swaying her hips towards her costumers again. But as I got outside gazing up at the moon I thought about how close to the truth Em's teasing really was.

A block away from my aunt's my chest began to heat up. I didn't need to look down to know it was Orine glowing yellow through my shirt. Looks like my family reunion just got interesting. Stepping on the gas pushed my truck faster because evil was near. And thats all the motivation i needed.

Parking down the street a few houses from my aunts house I stopped the truck and got out. The air was alot cooler on the hillside of Newtown giving me a slight shiver from what I expected to find at my house usually i could handle just about any thing. But this one I felt a long way from the diner. My senses told me who or whatever it was is strong. I placed it as a fellow guardian but why wasn't I notified. Gosh or are they keeping taps on me?
Nope Raven would have given me an heads up. I text him anyway but I knew it will be awhile before he replied. Signing i pocketed my phone which I turned on vibrate. The last thing I wanted was for make a sound.

The lights where on and everything seemed ok from the outside. Tucking Orine back inside my shirt I press the doorbell. Hearing footsteps aproah I sent out my powers. I relaxed a little no weird vibes atleast not in the house. Looking over my shoulder I whisperd into the light breeze. "I know your there."

The door flew open and my aunt had me in a vice grip hug. "Zack its been years ." She almost cried, thats my aunt for you. Pulling me hurriedly inside then I caught her briefly looking out into the yard. Was it my imagination or did I see worry in her eyes. But it was gone the moment she looked up at me. Smiling she lead me to the louge where I could hear the television and some giggling.
As we entered a mop of brown curls turned turned towards us. " Noah meet your nepfew, Zack." He looked at me for a moment before replying with a little shy voice. "Hi."

After the grand tour we ended up in the kitchen. Even though I told Maria a sandwhich or something quick will do she made me a plate anyway. After finishing the meal I was actually feel glad I didnt. A home cooked meal was something I missed. Soon we were back in the living room watching a movie. Maria kept glancing at her phone looking antsy. "Her battery is probably flat or she lost track of time, teenagers."
I finished even though I was more worried about who was lurking outside. Scarlet was probably safer or so I hoped. Rubbing my eyes I aslo glanced at my watch.

After the movie Maria took Noah upstairs for bed. The little guy saying goodnight on his way up in his mom's arms.

I was just about to put up a barrier up and get some shut eye on the couch when my phone vibrated. Shooting from the couch I was suddenly very awake at the word flashing on my phone.
