Thump, thump, thump my heart was beating. The eerie silence surrounding us didn't help at all. Scott was right by my side looking threatening and ready for anything while the others were walking with Carson towards our house. Please let my mom and Noah be ok. I know it was wishful thinking but I could hope right? Looking back at the black car I could see that the headlights were still on and hear the enjin running faintly. So this guy must still be around then omg. I heard the front door and saw Carson and the guys enter. "Scott do you think their still here." I whispered pointing to the car. Scott's features softened looking at my panicked face. " I think so Scarlet but dont worry his out numbered. If there is one thing I know about hunters its that they only attack lone supernatural beings." He spaces out like his not with me anymore but then blinks. Then focuses on me again giving my hand a squeeze. I relax my body even though my heads a mess of thoughts about the possible danger my family could be in. First finding out 'hunters' then the perfect guy I met at work is not quite human either is alot to take in in such a short time. That's it the waiting is driving me crazy. I reach for the door only for Scott to grab my arm. "No Scarlet you can't leave the car its not save. Look I think their coming back." As he said that a moment later the guys exits our house with Carson walking with long purposeful strides. First relief washed over me only too be replaced by worry at Carson's words when he reached me. "The house is empty nobodies home." He crashes me against his chest as I wail. "No!"
