6 years Later
Roy: 17
Alex: 18
Nicholas: 18
Liliana: 24
A red Nissan Altima drove down a long road encased by trees. Its speed going over the speed limit, a bit over 35 miles per hour.
The woman driving the automobile had black hair that swept over her shoulders gracefully. Her hands gripped her steering wheel with a bit of pressure on both sides. She flexed and unflexed her hold trying to relax. Her dark eyes that sparkled with excitement were fixated on the road ahead of her. It felt like it was taking forever to reach her destination.
The woman's excitement was mixed with a little anxiety. She sighed deeply.
"It will be six years since I've seen them, Lucas. I'm honestly...a bit nervous." She spoke to the open space in her car.
The speakers of the car boomed loudly with a chipper male voice, "Honeybuns..."
Lily smirked at his nickname, he only did that when he was messing with her and trying to get her to smile. She tended to overthink things and Lucas knew that this was one of those situations.
"Yes, my sugar bear?" Lily reached down picking up her cup of coffee, pausing at her lips as they both were holding back a snicker. Then they let out a deep laugh, cracking up at the ridiculous nicknames.
"Are we going to be that, type of couple?" Lily sipped her coffee.
"Hey, my grandparents were that kind of couple." Her fiance laughed
Liliana took another quick sip of her room-temperature coffee, she had been too anxious to drink it, the drink no longer had that warmth that lit her chest ablaze.
"I wasn't able to see them within those six years. What if they forgot about me? Or maybe they hate me since I never came to visit..." Liliana began to gulp her coffee down.
Her fiance cleared his throat. "Lily, you will be just fine..."
Lily pulled the coffee away from her lips. "But-"
"AH AH, not another word. It wasn't your fault that your parents moved." His voice sounded a bit displeased with her.
"I could've reached out to them, maybe stay at their house..."
"Lily..your father didn't want you to stay at their house, that's also a bit weird. I wouldn't want our daughter to go stay at another man's house even if she did watch their kids."
Lily snorted. "Our daughter?"
"Yes, our daughter. Is there something wrong with that honey buns?"
Lily glanced into her rearview mirror, a motorcyclist was a good distance behind her.
"You mean our boy?" Lily smiled looking back at the road.
She flicked her hand hitting the black stick next to her steering wheel. A clicking sound resonating throughout the car.
"Did you say, girl? My thoughts exactly." The speakers crackled a bit.
Liliana smoothly turned the wheel to get into the turning lane, "I said-WOAH!" Quickly Liliana threw her hands to swerve her car back into the lane nearly missing a black and red motorcycle that zipped by her. Her coffee tossed somewhere out of her hands and her books hit the door.
"ASSHOLE!" The enraged woman slammed her palm onto her horn earning herself a middle finger in the air from the motorcyclist, going way over the speed limit.
