"One..two....three.."
A little girl about the age of 14 was counting with her hands in front of her eyes.
She had black wavy hair that touched her shoulders ever so slightly. Currently, she was playing a game of hide and seek. She exaggerated each count with a puff of her chest.
"Eiiiiight....." She let a smile spread across her lips. There was a loud clatter and slam, a sign of hurried uncertain movements.
"Nine!" The young girl brought her hands down slowly. Silence stretched throughout the house.
The girl's eyes shot open before she even spoke her next words, "TEN! Ready or not here I come!" Her eyes fluttered a few times adjusting to the warm light in the house. She flipped her head back and forth, her hair floating with her movements. Adjusting her white t-shirt with a swift tug downward she started her search with unhurried steps. They had played this game many times since she started watching them, the boys got a thrill out of it, determined on finding the best hiding spot in the big house.
"Where are you...." Her voice carried on in the silent house. She opened a few doors and looked under some beds, still no one in sight. When she stepped into the kitchen she saw her little brown and white Maltese panting in front of a black trash bag, lying next to other trash bags that were supposed to be taken out before she started playing this game.
"What is it girl?" She smiled knowingly. The dog whined and pawed at the bag with two quick swipes.
"It's just trash Coco, there's nothing suspicious here." The young girl walked over to the very suspicious trash bag, shaped like a tiny person.
"Or..IS THERE!" She grabbed the bag quickly ripping it open to find a little ginger boy about the age of seven looking at her surprised. After the shock had left him he pouted in frustration.
"Leeleeeth- it's all Coco's fault!" He shouted ripping out of the bag. His face was starting to turn a bit red. The girl laughed at the little boy, the way he says 'leeleeth' was so cute to her. He hated when she pointed it out but it was due to him missing his two front teeth. Her nickname was 'Lily', her full name being 'Liliana'. The boys had a habit of calling her 'leelee', but he couldn't pronounce certain words correctly.
"Roy, get out of this bag and do NOT hide in the trash bag again do you hear me?" She pinched his freckled cheek, earning herself a whine. Her parents would kill her if they found out he was hiding in garbage bags.
"It would've been tha besth hiding spawt." he grumbled, not even caring about what she had just said.
Roy was the younger of the boys and probably the shyest. He was extremely quiet when she first met him. He had barely talked to her and just kept his head down for most of the time. Luckily she was able to get him to warm up to her in less than a week, the more she worked on their friendship the more open he became. He was actually extremely artistic and thoughtful. He was also a sensitive boy, any time she scolded him he would become quiet, even though he didn't really do anything. He just loved to draw and pretty much stayed out of people's hair, confrontation just wasn't his thing.
