"I can't believe you have to leave already," Betty frowned.
"I know, I'm going to miss you," I held both her hands, giving them a squeeze.
"We can always facetime," Betty suggested.
"It was a pleasure getting to know you, Betty," my mom smiled at the blonde on the other end of my arms. Betty smiled back at her, and the airport seemed to lighten up.
"You too, Mrs. Lodge," Betty let go of my hand to hug my mom. "I hope to see you soon," she smiled again, and my heart skipped a beat. Perhaps Betty had managed to steal my heart after all.
"I can't wait," I smiled with anticipation for the future. On the speakers we heard the warning that our flight will soo be taking off. "This is it," I forced a smile.
"I'll miss you," Betty nodded. I took hold of her hand, and brought her in for one last hug.

I watched as Veronica boarded her plane, I watched her turn around, and wave. I placed my hand on the window, and I wanted to do nothing more than run up to her, and give her one last hug, but alas. She dissapeared into the pain, and took with her a piece of my heart.
