--Veronica's POV--
"Candace, don't cry," I asked of her. "If you cry, I'll cry too," I warned.
"I can't help it," Candace teared up. "I mean I knew this day was coming, but it actually happening is much harder than I imagined," I sobbed.
"I'm really going to miss you two," Brad mentioned, in a sad manner.
"I'll miss you too," I said truthfully. "You'll always be my best friend," I promised.
"You'll have Chuck, and Candace," Sol tried to comfort him.
"Chandace will be too busy exchanging saliva to pay me any attention," Brad playfully complained which caused us all to laugh.
"Child," Candace retorted, and Brad simply poked his tongue out.
"What the hell is a chandice," a puzzeled Chad wondered, and again we all laughed.
"It's our names smooshed together, babe," Candace answered.
"Alright kids, it's time," Hermione spoke the words neither of them wanted to hear. "We have to get going if we want to catch that plane," she elaborated. For weeks Hiram and Hermione have been working together to ship their belongings to their new penthouse apartment in Riverdale. For weeks Veronica has been trying to get a hold of Betty, but the blonde had blocked her on all social media platforms, even text. All her friends have been sworn to not speak a word to Veronica about Betty's whereabouts.
"I'll come visit a lot," I told Candace.
"Please," Candace dragged out the word, showing she was relieved she wouldn't be going back to Riverdale. "I still feel weird about what I did to Charles," she made a face of disgust.
"It's been weeks," Sol pointed out.
"Who's Charles," Chuck asked. Though he definitely knew who Charles was, he did after all watch Candace flirt with him.
"It was embarrassing," Candace insisted.
"Veronica Cecilia Lodge, and Soluna Griselda Ronson, it's time," Hiram called out, and Veronica new it was time, seriously time to start heading out. They all walked out of Veronica's former room, giggling as the raven-haired girl had turned a bright shade of red.
"You have to come and visit when we've settled down," Sol urged.
"Take your time," Candace laughed. "I mean it."
"Oh, please, what you did will be history," Veronica comforted. "Besides, they're all probably talking about how Betty hates me now," my mood changed.
"Betty doesn't hate you," Sol debunked.
"She stopped talking to me, it's been weeks since she's said something sassy to me... I miss sassy Betty," I frowned. We continued the walk down the hallway, to the elevator.
"I'm sure she has her reasons," Sol gave the blonde the benefit of the doubt. "That's not hating you," she pointed a finger at me.
"Whatever it is, it better be good... she broke my heart," a devastated whispered on my behalf. We arrived at the elevator, and waited for it to reach our floor. "Daddy, we have to go to Pop's," I said to him as the elevator doors opened.
"Oh my God, yes tío," Sol gasped. "It's so good," she raved. We all walked in.
"Weren't you vegetarian," Hiram asked playfully.
"Your daughter has corrupted me," Sol played victim.
"Oh you poor child," Hiram played along. "You're damaged," he laughed.
"She's come over to the meat side," I laughed.
"Not your best pun," Brad argued.
"Beat it," I blurted, knowing they would relate it to the 'meat' part of my last sentence.
"Ha," Chuck laughed, soon we were all laughing, except my parents.
"How is that funny," Hermione wondered.
"Mi amor, you know how strange their kind can be," Hiram joked, and Hermione chuckled. The ride down was quiet because with each floor the elevator went down, the closer the time came to saying goodbye, and I'm not too good at goodbyes.
We all got into the van, and rode all the way to the airport, in silence, just holding eachother for what felt would be the last time. Not a single tear was shed, not until we arrived at the parting point. Mom and daddy went in first, leaving us kids to say goodbye. As expected, Candace began to cry. "This isn't really a goodbye," Chuck consoled. "Think of it as a, see you later," he snakes his arms around Candace and Sol, bringing them in for a hug. Sol threw hers over me, I threw mine over Brad's, and he over Candace's. We were in a circle of tears, and sorrow, hating having to say goodbye, but looking forward to a future reunion.
"So this is it," Sol sighed, threatening tears welled up in her eyes.
"Things are going to be different now," Brad croaked.
"Whatever happens, we'll always have the many memories," Candace promised. We hugged once more before Sol and I parted from them.
