The weeks of the first year of Senior School were slow. Especially the first few weeks where we were all still getting used to the new school. During the breaks I would usually hang out with Stan. Niall and Josh often joined us, which was nice. In class it was mostly me and Stan though. Our friendship was growing quickly, and after the first few weeks we kind of had our own group, consisting of Niall, Josh, Stan and I. We weren't popular, but we didn't want to be popular.

We didn't really hang out yet outside of school, but as we were all getting used to the rising levels of homework we didn't really have time. There were some other people in my class I started talking to, there was this girl named Lauren who was really nice, she was kind of popular though and way too cool to even want to hang out with me. At least that's what I thought.

There was also this other guy, Zayn, but he was really shy and he barely said anything other than a simple "Hello". He seemed really nice though.

He kind of joined our group, more or less. He just started sitting with us during the breaks, we didn't mind.

After a few weeks we were finally discussing about hanging out we looked to him as we couldn't go to anybody's house and he was the only one left.

"Hey Zayn, can we maybe chill at your place?" Niall asked.

"Oh, eh, sure." the black haired boy replied.

Zayn's hair looked like he didn't put in any effort to style it. His fringe didn't look bad, I just thought he could make it look a lot better. Don't really know why I'm thinking about it so much though.

After a boring Maths lesson from a teacher who we all called a witch way too often, we went to Zayn's place. Turned out he had this beautiful home in a semi-posh neighbourhood. Apparently he had some rich uncle and his mum and dad bought a whole student flat.

We hung our coats on the hanger and took our shoes off, and walked to the stairs that Zayn had already climbed very swiftly. When we got upstairs, which took a while as the stairs were very steep, we heard someone shout.

"Ah crap, we're out of cookies! Well do you guys want something to drink then?"

Turned out it was Zayn, I'd never hear him shout before, so it sounded a bit strange to me.

"Yeah thanks mate, I just want a coke." Niall replied, he seemed dissapointed because there weren't any cookies left.

"Do you have something non fizzy?" I asked.

"Um, no, is water okay Louis?"

"Oh yeah sure"

Stan and Josh wanted a coke aswell. After Zayn made our drinks he made us descend the creepy stairs again, and to the left of them was a room that just looked like a smaller living room. There was a couch and a beanbag opposite of a television, and a small kitchenette in the corner. Zayn plopped himself on the couch, while Niall and I jumped on the beanbag, after we put our drinks down of course.

Zayn turned on the TV, quickly flipping through the channels to see if there was anything worth watching.

"Can we play a game or something? I see an Xbox." Josh said, apparently not liking the idea of watching the X Factor.

"Well what do you guys want to play?"

"Do you have Fifa?" Josh asked Zayn.

"Oh yeah, it's an old one though, is Fifa 09 good?".

"Yea, that's one of the best." Niall replied.

"We only have 4 controllers though."

"That's okay, I don't really like Fifa." Stan said.

"What?" we all almost shouted in unison.

"Um sorry? I just don't like Fifa."

We laughed and said that it was okay. Zayn passed the 4 controllers around to everybody, and we assigned teams.

When the ball was passed the first time things got hectic quickly, everyone started shouting, even Zayn.

"GO GET THE BALL LOUIS!"

"AH CRAP."

"NO NO NO NOT HAPPENING."

"YEEEESSS!"

I could get really into games as well, and my inner football coach was coming out of it's shell and I started shouting with them.

In the last minute Zayn scored again and the game ended in 3-4 for me and Zayn.

"Yeeeaah buddy!" Zayn said.

"Zayn, I don't think I've ever heard you shout as loud as just now." I replied.

"Yeah, at school you're always the quiet one but at home you're a total beast." Stan said.

Stan had just been sitting in a corner doing stuff on his phone, occasionally looking up at the screen when someone shouted.

"Yeah, I don't know why, I guess I just feel more comfortable with friends around me."
