There is a figure in the distance
Standing alone by the bus stop
If you get closer,
You will see a young girl.
People say,
She is waiting for her brother to come back home.
She comes every morning
Just stands there and waits
Ever since her brother went to war
She prays every night for him to come home
She prays,
"Please, keep my brother safe. Please bring him back to me. Please, I beg you."
Month after month,
She still stands there.
Until that day,
When all the soldiers came home.
She searched and searched in the crowd
But didn't see him.
One of his friends came up to her
With a look of despair
"I'm sorry," he started to say
"He didn't make it out."
Tears ran down her face
'Why?' she thought
'Why did you have to take him away?! Now I'm alone...'
She slowly gave him a smile
And walked back to that house;
Where memories were made and will not be forgotten,
Where her life was perfect before he left.
And now that he is gone,
It just seems like an empty void...
With nothing but sadness and silence
She wished she would had stopped him from going.
But how could she crush his dreams?
He wanted to serve and protect his country
Well he fulfilled his dream
But him dying in battle was not what he had planned.
He wanted to go back to his little sister
And tell her what he had accomplished.
But sadly it was his time to go.
This is not how he wanted to go.
As he watches her cry,
He knows he broke his promise;
To never make her cry.
But sadly promises are meant to be broken.
He knows she will be fine without him.
He believes in her and hopefully she knows that.
He loves his little sister so much.
She loves her big brother so much.
He will forever be in her heart
Forever and Always,
Until the dawn of time.
