XIV - "Your ears only"

My eyes opened quickly, facing me with a view of the night sky from the ground of the garden. Any skin that wasn't covered with clothes prickled with the chill of the night. But the rest of my body felt warm. I shuffled slightly then felt restricted with my movement so I stopped immediately. 

Me and Talia had fallen asleep lying on the floor of the garden, a blanket thrown over us.

I tried ever so carefully to remove her head from resting on my chest and slide my arm away.

I glanced down at my watch which had both hands pointing somewhere in the first quarter of the dial. 

Around us on the picnic blanket lay the empty bottle of champagne, as well as the two glasses we had been drinking from and a pizza box. Oh and several cushions, not sure where they had come from but whatever. 

Now I had got up, I had to decide what to do next. I really didn't want to wake Talia, she looked so peaceful. I guess trying to get her into the house without waking her was my new objective.

I crouched down on one knee and tried to grab her under the arms and knees to carry her indoors. Somehow, I don't know how, I managed it.

I picked her up, Talia still asleep, covered the distance from our blanket to the back door and creeped into the house. Id rather avoid any interactions with anyone at least on my way upstairs.

Reaching the left side of my bed, I had to just repeat what I did to pick her up, but in reverse, easy right. NOPE.

I gritted my teeth pulling the duvet out the way and laying Talia on my matres. I lifted the covers back up just above her waist and then left her to sleep.

One last glance over at her before leaving my room to go clean up in the garden, I noticed her smiling again and shuffling to get comfortable in my bed. Jesus she was adorable.

My door closed as quietly as I could make it upon exit. 

I quickly headed outside to grab all the stuff scattered across the lawn. 

Freya walked out towards me as I folded the picnic blanket

Simon: "Don't!" I said smiling and pointing at her breaking the silence of the night, I didn't want any tough questions.

Freya: "Oh cmon Simon you can't expect me not to ask you anything, Did she like it? Did she say yes?"

I couldn't even contain my smile "yea..." I laughed slightly almost in disbelief "Talia's my girlfriend" How the Fuck could I be saying that, I was so lucky.

Freya: Almost loud enough to wake the whole house up "OH MY GOD SIMON!" She squealed hurting my ears a bit. 

I creased a bit, still unable to remove my smile however.

Freya: "Can I tell everyone now? I mean it's not exactly like you guys out here were for my eyes only!" She giggled

"I don't know if that's what we're doing, I guess we'll talk about it tomorrow. But until you know from either of us, what I specifically just told you about tonight is for your ears only"

Freya: holding her tongue from saying or asking more "O K ill see you tomorrow then" She smirked as she walked off back inside the house, at least she took the cushions with her, I guess that's where they came from.

After collecting all the stuff and juggling it so I could carry it all back inside, I had one last look up at the night sky, pausing for a second before heading once more back inside. 

I genuinely couldn't be assed to put anything away so I layed the folded picnic blanket on the floor, then put the glasses, bottle and pizza box all on top of it lazily.

I crept back into my own room, looking down at my watch now confirming it was 2:50am.

Now my next dilemma was to decide what to do about ME sleeping. I guess it's fine if I slept in my own bed. Right? 

My following movements were very slow, trying to get under my covers without disturbing Talia. But that problem kinda solved itself. When basically lying down, Talia rolled over and buried her head into my chest and rested her hand along side it. I cuddled up to her, wrapping my left arm around her and then shuffling a bit to get 100% comfortable myself. 

Talia seemed to move to cuddle up more comfortably to me too, and, although it was dark, I swear I saw a small smile appear  as she did so.

 I felt at peace where I was. Just me and Talia together, nothing complicated, just in each others arms. 

My eyes wanted to close so I didn't resist, I just drifted off to sleep...with Talia.

YO, I don't do this much bc why TF do I need to, you guys are just here for the story I guess.
This was a rly short chapter bc I just needed to wrap this bit up I felt. First time i'v gone sub 1k words I think, but anyways.
