A/N: Oh my goodness, it has been FOREVER since I updated! I am SO SORRY you all deserve so much better! I got a new phone and I couldn't remember my Wattpad password, so I was locked out for a while, but I'm back now. Honestly, I was thinking of abandoning this story because I was worried that all you lovely readers had left me, but I saw how much y'all have been commenting and voting and it really means the world to me. I was shocked by all your encouraging comments, and they were seriously what motivated me to keep writing this. HUGEEE thank you to kestherb42 and RoseTenForever y'all are the most amazing humans on the freaking planet (and all the other ones), thank you so much for your continuing support, and thank you to everyone else who voted and commented, I love you! Sorry for the long note, onto the story!!!!

I'm starting to feel a bit like we're all in one of those secret agent movies, like the James Bond type, thinking up plans to save the world. Operation Get Rid Of The Cybermen is now fully go and the room is abuzz with the flurry of movement. Clara, Rose, and both the Doctors were rushing about, creating elaborate plots to destroy the Cybermen. Every now and then, someone (usually one of the Doctors) would triumphantly shout, and all attention would be on them for a few minutes, before the flaw in their so-called 'great plan' was discovered. Then, the process started all over again. At this rate, it will be Christmas before the Cybermen are gone for good.
I feel very useless. Everyone else is much more experienced than I am. I want to help but I don't have anything intelligent to contribute. I am about to make some half-arsed excuse and awkwardly exit when Rose comes to my rescue.
"Oswin, what do you think? We don't currently have the uh... means to kill all of the Cybermen, but there is a possibility that we could re-open the Void and throw the Cybermen back in...."
My father cut her off, "That would be extremely dangerous!"
Rose glared at him before she continued, "It may be dangerous but it may well be the only option we have. What would you do?"
I tried to provide a logical answer, but it's difficult when I don't understand half the words that just came out of Rose's mouth.
"Well... I don't know what the Void is, but if the choice is between risking everything and possibly succeeding or giving up the world to these Cybermen, I think you should go for it."
Rose nodded and looked pointedly at the Doctor to attempt to silence his objections. The skinny Doctor and my mum were whispering something I couldn't quite hear in the back of the room.
Something still worries me though.
"Rose? Doctor?" I got their attention. Feeling uncomfortable with all the focus in the room being on me, I spoke up, "Is this really what Earth's future is like? Do we spend the rest of eternity fighting off alien attacks every other week?"
The Doctor thought for half a moment then replied, "Oswin... we aren't in your future right now. This is a parallel universe. You ended up here because the TARDIS malfunctioned. It should be impossible to reach this universe, but years ago, there was a rip in time and space, and Rose and I got stranded here. That being said, on your Earth, aliens are still prevalent. But you humans are so good at forgetting. It's your best skill, it really is. Aliens attack, bedlam ensues, a few hours later, the entire attack is forgotten completely. Humanity is incredible. You tiny little things can survive anything."
I almost feel a little bit better, and his words put more hope in me for destroying the Cybermen and stopping the attack on Alternate Universe Earth before it started.
