12. Just Another Day

It's an easy Saturday morning, the sun is out and there's a small breeze to balance the weather.

I get out of bed and open my windows then watch the sun as it radiates my entire room and the little rails reflecting everywhere.

I carefully tuck in the bed sheet on the corners of the headboard then head straight to the shower.

I sigh as the hot water splashes to my body and immediately calms my nerves.

After a few minutes I begin to sing and dance while showering.

"🎶I don't know if you could take it,

Know you wanna see me nakey, nakey, naked
I wanna be your baby, baby, baby

na na naa hhm aah aah

wild wild wild, wild wild wild thoughts🎶"

I move and accidentally trip on soap that fell on the floor that I was too busy singing and dancing to notice.

"Ouch!!" I groan.

Well that hurt.

What happened to be a calm morning has turned to be a painful one.

I carefully stand up and take a towel then cover my-self as I limp out of the shower.

I leave the bathroom then limp downstairs to take an Ice-bag so I can rub it against my foot.

My mum is in the kitchen preparing breakfast and her face consumes with worry when she sees me.

She quickly helps me to take a seat.

"ooh honey what happened?" she asks out of worry.

I groan "I tripped".

"let me see" she lifts up my leg then a swollen wound appears "this looks bad, we need to take you to the doctor".

"it's really not that bad" I reply.

"you need to get this checked Cathy" she says while covering my wound with a bandage.

She takes the car keys from the counter then helps me walk to the car.

She opens the passenger door, I slide in and we drive to Massachusetts General Hospital.

I enter the doctor's ward and a blonde haired woman greets me "Hi I'm Dr.Curry, let me check that wound of yours" she says.

I uncover my wound and she treats it as I tell her what happened.

"you kind of remind me of my son, he used to get such wounds all the time when he was young" she casts me a smile.

"well how old is he now?" I ask.

"he's 17, he's a grown boy now" she answers.

"oh great, I'm 17 too, and it's embarrassing that I'm here cause I fell off the shower"

"things happen" then she laughs.

30 minutes later I leave the ward then walk to the vending machine to get some  chocolate bar.

A familiar voice speaks at the back of my ear.

"Cathy?"

I turn and find Chris looking at me.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I ask

"my mum works here, she's a doctor. What are you doing here?"
