"So we got a bit of money and some food but it won't last us longer than a week,"Barry rummaged through his bag. "I thought we were staying with your handsome friend,"her words made Barry roll his eyes so hard they nearly fell out the socket. "Staying with Team Arrow would've made them accomplishes. Oliver already has enough police up his ass."
Barry collapsed back against the pavement and huffed. Caitlin didn't know much about human emotions. But the sadness she now felt had to be Barry.
She sat next to him and waited for him to speak. He glanced over at her and smiled softly,"I'm fine I just...when I was eleven I saw my mom murdered by the impossible. And my father go to jail for a murder he didn't commit. Joe took me in and he's raised me to the best of his ability. I'm sure you already know this."
"Even through all of that you've never been homeless, neither have I. It's okay to admit you've lost your sense of direction,"Caitlin concluded.
"How do you do that?,"Barry questioned.
"Do what?,"Caitlin whispered getting lost in the mesmerizing colorful sky.
"Know exactly what I'm thinking, how I'm feeling."
"One day you shall belong to the land of Genie, as my disciple. It's my job to make sure you stay alive and your needs are fulfilled."
Barry listened intently, it was quite the declaration.
"You haven't wished for anything so your fine so far. But, you will,"she shrugged.
After a long moment of silence Barry asked,"What's it like where you're from?"
Caitlin's face split into a sad smile,"Beautiful, I've always wanted to come to Earth though. Just didn't think I would have to give up my family for that dream."
He wanted to say sorry again but Caitlin just smiled at him, she knew.
"Well in that case...I'll have to do everything in my power to make sure their sacrifice wasn't in vain."
Barry smiled brightly and Caitlin did something so very human. Her once pale cheeks burning a deep red.
"Oh? Is that a blush I see?,"Barry laughed.
Caitlin shoved him hoping to see him tupple over which was pretty stupid on her part seeming as though he was already lying down.
"I'm not sure what that means but I know I don't like it."
"Don't worry it's cute,"Barry assured,"Come on bring it in,"he called, long arms opened wide.
"Absolutely not we don't hug where I come from."
"Well your not in the vase anymore...now your free. Sort of,"Barry titled his head slightly confused and she shook her head. In the end she decided a simple hug couldn't hurt but the forcefulness of her movement had his choking on his laughter. He huffed and Caitlin giggled pulling back slightly so she could see his face.
She hadn't really notice before but his boyish looks we're actually quite...charming. Oh jeez! She shouldn't be noticing that she's supposed to protect him and grant his wishes, that's it.
Before either one of them had to decided where this was going a cloud of dark mist formed before their eyes.
"That can't be good,"Barry mumbled. As soon as the words left his lips a figure with glowing red eyes stepped out from the mist.
"Trust me it isn't,"Caitlin slowly started to move in front of Barry.
"My, what a bright soul you picked this go around,"his voice was chilling and cold. It fix his dark clothes and the fat scar, extending from one corner of his face to the opposite. It split his half and half features up evenly. Where his eyes were monstrous, his nose and lips were normal.
He couldn't exactly see Caitlin's face but wind whipped passed his face as her hair stood straight up all on it on.
"Might want to take a few steps Barry,"she informed. The man seemed amused with this show, not moving and inch to defend himself.
"How bout we cut this visit short Rogue,"Caitlin erupted in a blast of white founf he still had to shield from the thick sheet of ice.
