I ran back up the stairs of the hotel to get changed before heading out to dinner with Heath and Max. Everyone else was busy clubbing but I didn't want to go so we opted for a nice calm dinner instead. I was a bit suspicious as to why Max wouldn't want to go clubbing and get laid again. I quickly had a shower letting my hair dry naturally before changing into a black summer dress paired with black flip flops. I grabbed my purse and phone from off my bed and key card because I forgot to take it to the beach. I had to go through Heath's room which is a massive mess already. I walked calmly down the hall towards the front of the hotel. I saw Heath leaning up against the wall without Max. I frowned as I walked towards him.
'Where's Max?'
'Decided to go clubbing because there were a bunch of swimsuit models heading that way.' I shook my head. Heaths hand slipped in mine and laced our fingers together. I looked down at our hands as a different kind of electricity ran through me. It was different to the electricity I felt when I ignited. He led me over to the awaiting taxi. It was only then that I took in what he was wearing. White shorts with a black muscle tee and one of the beaded necklaces we were given as a gift from the hotel.
I slid into the middle seat and Heath sat next to me, still holding my hand.
'So where are we going.'
'That beach restaurant just down from the spot we were earlier.'
'That place smelt amazing.'
'Yeah I thought you would like it. You love your seafood.' I let out a small laugh.
'You know me to well.'
'Hey that's what happens when we are be-'he froze looking ahead of us.
'When what?' Confused I tried to follow his sight line and saw the same thing he did, Keltainen.
'Nothing we are here.' He paid the driver and we climbed out. We walked into the restaurant with his hand on my lower back.
'Reservation for 2. Heath.' He said to the waitress.
'Follow me.' She winked at Heath and pulled her shirt down a little more showing more of her cleavage. I gagged as Heath just chuckled. She led us to a secluded area on the balcony overlooking the beach. I sat in one of the chairs in the corner booth and Heath sat next to me. She started playing with her hair and bitting her lip. Ever so slightly she pushed her chest out so it was literally in Heaths face. I raised my eyebrows at her. Heath coughed and looked away.
'Do I make you nervous?' She said seductively.
'Ummmm no?' He squeaked looking at me desperately for help. I rolled my eyes.
'Can I see your boner babe?' She said leaning in closer, her hand moving closer to him.
'Trust me he doesn't get a boner for you but do you know what does?' I said.
'What?' She spat glaring at me.
'My middle finger.' I flipped her off she huffed before turning and stalking away.
'Oh and I would like to request a new waiter.' I smiled sweetly at her. She glared at me and flipped me off.
'Wow.' Heath said before laughing.
'That was awesome Becca. Didn't know you had it in you.' I smiled at him as a new waiter approached.
'Sorry about her. My name is Dan and I will be your waiter for tonight. Can I get you something to drink?'
'We'll take the house Champaign.' Heath answered before I could say anything. He nodded before retreating back inside. We made pleasant small talk before the waiter came back with our drinks and took our order.
I ordered the calamari special and Heath ordered the seafood plate which looked like a whole buffet. After finishing our meals we went down to the beach and walked up and down.
'There was something I was going to tell you earlier but I never to the chance.' We came to a halt and sat down on a dry patch of sand.
'You were right when you said I was hiding something from you.' He took a deep breath.
'You see there's this girl I'm supposed to marry but she's not fully human. Neither am I. Fuck vipers going to kill me.' He mumbled under his breath.
Damn right she will.
'Who is Viper?' I asked innocently.
'It'll make sense soon just don't freak out on me okay?' I nodded my head pretending to look like I was processing everything he was saying. He took a deep breath and his eyes ignited to a bright red only the royals inherited.
'Wow.' I whispered. Again all an act.
'I'm not entirely human.' He extinguished his eyes and started his explanation.
'The girl I'm supposed to marry has been missing for years, ever since I was kidnapped as a child before I came to live with the Jones'. I have been looking for her but I have fallen for someone else. The enemies that killed her parents have known my location for a while now. They took my real parents and probably still have them.
That means while they know where I am you are not safe. The leaders of the enemies are two women. One my mother's closest friend on the royal council and her daughter. She wanted to be of royal blood so badly that she killed her own husband and the other council members to get her way. That's how my parents were taken. Ever since she has tried to get me to marry her daughter and had eliminated any female that has ever gotten close to me.
The people with red eyes are the good people on my side, trying to protect you. I asked Viper to keep a close eye on you because I can't always be there to protect you. She is one of the rising leaders of my people, extremely dangerous to the enemy and also rumoured to be the missing girl. I don't know if she is which is what I have to figure out.
That's why I am so protective over you because you are my best friend and I don't want to lose you. That's why I showed you my true identity so you know what to expect. The enemies have yellow eyes though and are very dangerous so please be careful.' I nodded my heart still sinking at the sound that he likes someone else, not me.
'So who have you fallen for if it's not that girl?' I whispered trying not to let the tears show. He chuckled softly.
'You have always been so oblivious Becca.' He said before cupping my cheeks with his hands and pressing his soft lips on mine. He pulled back so quickly that I was still trying to process he liked me and he just kissed me. I bit my lip letting my hair cover my face. He tugged me to my feet slowly. 'Come on let's get back.' I nodded my head.

When we got back to the hotel. Heath got a text from Will to meet them in Coaches room, male meeting only so I decided to go for a walk around the hotel, ignoring Heaths pleads to stay put in the room. After all I can protect myself. I let the warm breeze tickle my bare skin as I walked around the pool towards the lawn area overlooking the beach. Suddenly I got pulled back into the shadows. I tried to scream but nothing but muffles came out.
I kicked and punched knocking the person back. I turned around and growled seeing my rapist from years ago.
'What do you want now? Pregnancy number 2?' I snarled. He laughed darkly.
'Now why would I when you were that bad? Worst fuck ever.' I growled at him before he lunged towards me. I tripped him and straddled him punching him repeatedly letting go of all those memories and pent up emotions from years ago.
'Leave.' Punch. 'Me.' Punch. 'Alone!' Punch. He still fought back until I put him in a headlock. He scratched my arm and kicked me multiple times trying to get free. He even managed to pull my hair and in one last attempt he pulled out his knife but sadly didn't get to use it.
Who am I kidding? I'm glad I didn't have to stab him. His body went limp and I lowered him to the ground before dragging him to a shelter rock pool away from view of people and dumped his body there before retrieving back to my hotel room and collapsing on my bed letting sleep take over. Last thing I remember thinking about was the blood splattered across his face.
