Late night run

"Lauren?!? where are you?! Baby?!!" I yell with tears running down my face while running through the woods with the cops and Lauren's parents. I hear a scream coming from the distance. "Over there!!" I point before taking off towards the sound with everyone following.

2 hours earlier

"Lauren are you sure about this?" I ask worried as she changes into her workout clothes. "Y/n baby I will be fine, okay?" Lauren walks over to me and cups my face "I'm just going for a jog, what could happen?" She says and kisses me, I wrap my arms around her waist. "A lot could happen" I say looking down, "I just don't understand why you wanna go jogging at 10pm" I look at Lauren, "listen i love that you're worried about me but I have to jog now because I didn't jog this morning" she smirks before adding "we were a little busy this morning" I laugh and hug her. "Can't you just do it tomorrow? I could jog with you?" I ask into her neck. Lauren rubs up and down my back, "babe I'll be fine, don't worry" she says and kisses my cheek before walking downstairs. "Wait!!" I yell and run downstairs, Lauren turns around holding the door knob, "I love you" I say and kiss her again, Lauren smiles into the kiss "I love you so much more mi amor" she pulls away, "stay safe please" I say hugging her again, she laughs and hugs me back "baby I promise you I'll stay safe, but I need to go" she says and pulls away, she kisses my cheek "bye baby, I'll be back in an hour"
I stand in the doorway watching her take off running. I have this feeling that something bad is gonna happen and I don't like it.

1 hour later

I paced in the living room, where is she? She should be home now. Maybe she decided to walk home instead of running? Yeah that might be it.

30 minutes later

Okay she really should've been home by now. I call her mom, "hey Clara, did Lauren stop by on her jog? She usually does that" I say nervous, "no she didn't come by today, why is she running so late? Did something happen?" I stopped pacing. "She said she needed to go for a run cuz she didn't get to this morning. I'm really worried about her, she's been gone for one hour and 30 minutes. She usually just take an hour before she's back." I say before starting to pace again. "I'm sure everything's okay sweetie, maybe she stopped by a store on her way home?" Clara said trying to soothe me, "I don't think so like she left her wallet here" I say starting to breathe heavily. "Mija I need you to take deep breaths okay? Mike and I are coming over so stay there. We'll be there in 10 minutes" Clara says trying to call me down which she was able to but I won't be calm until Lauren comes home. "Okay thank you" I say and we hang up. I run upstairs, changed into my regular clothes, pants, T-shirt, and a denim jacket. I hear someone walking through the front door, "Lauren! Oh my god I'm so happy you're back" I say and run downstairs, "oh hey mr and mrs jauregui" i say and hug both of them. "You guys can take a seat on the couch, are you thirsty?" Both of them said yeah so I walk into the kitchen and grab three cups of water. I give them their cups and start pacing while drinking my water. "Y/n I'm sure she'll be back" Mike says but I can't hear anything, every sound is muffled. Someone grabbed my shoulders and lightly shook them. "Y/n sweetie? are you okay?" I came back to reality and once I looked into Clara's eyes I broke down. Clara hugs me, "I'm so worried I can't breathe" I mumble into her shoulder, she rubs my back, "group hug" I hear Mike say and suddenly I'm in a Jauregui sandwich. We all laugh before pulling away. I wipe my tears away.

1 hour later

Now we're all worried. "You know what? I'm calling the cops" I say and grab my phone, "hey this is y/n y/l, my girlfriend went on a run 3 hours ago and she still hasn't come back. Is there a possibility you guys could along with me and her parents search for her? I will search for her with or without your help" I say and grab my shoes. "We'll help you, send me the address and we'll be there in a few" I gave them our address before hanging up. I put on shoes, Mike and Clara did the same.
Soon the cops arrived and we decided that we'd walk the same route while a car drove around the block. It's now 12:30am so it's pitch black out, we all walk around with flashlights. I heard a branch snap so I used my flashlight to see if I can see anything. I heard a scream. I started running towards the sound.

Current time

My clumsy self trips over a branch and fall but I get back up and keep running. I heard another scream "NO please don't!" I could recognize that raspy voice anytime. I run so fast that my face get cuts from the branches on the trees. "LAUREN?!" I yell, "Y/N PLEASE HELP ME" I heard Lauren yell for me, "BABY WHERE ARE YOU?!" I heard another scream this time closer, I turn my head to the right and see some movement. I run towards it. The closer I get the more I see Lauren but I can also tell that she's not alone. I see someone grabbing her and punched her before holding her against a tree. My blood starts to boil. I turn off my flashlight and start running faster. I'm coming from behind them and Lauren sees me but I put my finger to my lips telling her to stay quiet. I walk up behind him and use my flashlight to knock him out.

He falls to the ground and so does Lauren. I grab Lauren and hold her close to me. "You're okay, you're safe" I say and kiss her head. She wraps her arms around me and cries into my neck. "I thought I was going to die" she sobs, "I would never let that happen to you" I say slightly pull away, I hold her face in my hands, "come on let's get out of here" I say and kiss her forehead. She nods, "not so fast" I hear a manly voice behind me, I turn around and stand in front of Lauren. Suddenly he punched me causing me to fall to the ground, "baby!" Lauren yelled and went to help me but he pushed her making her fall and hit her head on the tree. I get back up, "don't you fucking touch her" I growl and tackle him to the ground, I straddle his stomach before punching him many times in his face, he was able to punch me so I fell to the side. Now he was straddling and punching me. I moved my head so he hit the ground and not my face. Suddenly he fell over unconscious.

I look up and see Lauren standing there with a big ass branch. She throws it to the side and helps me up, "baby are you okay?" She says and holds my face, "are you?" I ask and hug her "I'm okay, I only care about you right now" I say and pull away. Lauren wraps her arms around my neck, I hold her waist. I look at her face and see  a big cut on the side of her forehead, a bloody nose and lip. "Fuck you're bleeding" I hold her face, "I'm okay" she says, "now where the hell is everyone?" I ask confused looking around, "what?" Lauren asks, "I called the cops and your parents, we came here together" I see flashlights in the distance "HEY OVER HERE" I yell and see them coming closer, "let's go" I say and grab her hand.

"Wait" Lauren says and I see that she's bleeding from her stomach. "Holy shit! okay hold on" I say and take off my jacket, I tie it around her waist making it put some pressure on her wound. I pick her up bridal style, Lauren squeals before groaning in pain, "hang in there okay? You'll get help soon" I say and walk faster towards the others. "It's just a scratch I'm not dying babe" Lauren says and wraps her arms around my neck.

15 minutes later

We're now back home and Lauren is inside getting treated by the paramedics. I'm outside talking to the cops, "did you guys get him?" I ask one of the officers, "yes we did, it's not his first time doing this" I nod "thank you for your help" there was a silence before the officer spoke up again. "You were great out there, have you ever thought about becoming a cop?" Officer Knowles asked, "I have actually thought about it" I say and he nods, he hands me a card "well here's our precinct's number so give us a call if you wanna try it out" I smile, "yeah I will, thank you" he smiles before walking towards the other officers.

"What was that all about?" I turn around and see Lauren with her arms crossed and clenching her jaw while glaring at Officer Knowles, I laugh "babe, he just gave me their card in case I wanna become a cop" I wrap my arms around her waist. "Oh" she looks down blushing from embarrassment. "Hey" I grab her chin and make her look at me, I lean in and kiss her. She smiles and wraps her arms around my neck. I went to pull away but Lauren held the back of my head. Our kiss turned into a whole make out session.

Someone coughing made us pull away. "We're gonna go home now, I'm so glad you're okay mija" Clara said and hugged Lauren, while they were talking, Mike put an arm around my shoulder while we were watching them talk. "You really love my daughter don't you?" He nudges me, I smile "yeah I do, I love her more than I love myself" he squeezed my shoulder "I'm happy Lauren has finally found someone who really loves her and treats her good. Thank you for making my daughter happy y/n" he pulls me into a hug. "Okay you two break it off, Mike honey we're leaving" we laugh and pull away. Lauren pulls me to her and wrap her arms around my waist. "Bye" we say and wave at them.

"Let's go inside" I say, Lauren nods "yeah it's getting cold" I grab her and carry her bridal style, I can walk ya know?" She laughs and kisses my cheek.
