The next day was fairly boring to say the least, I spent majority of the day working as usual and chilling with Kai. Business was slowly starting to grow and it was slightly overwhelming but good non the less. It was around noon and Kairi had her 6 month checkup at 2, I knew she had to get her shots and even though this isn't the first she gets shots it still hurts my feelings. Brooke says ima crybaby when it comes to my daughter but I can't help it. So she was gonna come with us, she's really been fulfilling her god mommy duties. Dave and I have been texting for most of the morning, just trying to figure out days he can get Kairi and whatnot. While I was getting dressed I heard the front door open, and I knew it was Brooke. She came upstairs with Kai in her arms,"you ready?"
"Almost. You can put her in her carseat." I said sliding on my shoes and grabbing my keys. I made sure I had everything before I walked out only to be met by Dave getting out his car. "Hey, whats up?" I asked with a confused expression etched on my face. "Wassup Brooke told me about Kairi's appointment and I was wondering if there was any room for me to go?" he stood there dressed in some ripped balmain jeans with a white tee and those ugly ass balenciagas. "Yeah come on we got 30 minutes to be there." shortly after we all pilled up in my car, me and Brooke was in the front seat while Dave sat in the back next to the baby. We rode in a comfortable silence since Kai was sleep. Once we made it to the doctors office, it took us no time to get signed in and looked at. Usually it's packed with people but today it was fairly empty. I signed in and took a seat next to Dave who was holding Kairi in his lap, she looked around with her hands in her mouth. Brooke was sitting behind us on her phone but at the same time making faces at Kai. I scrolled through my twitter, I mentally chuckled cause I had this app on my phone for the longest but never get on it. Hell the last tweet I sent was before I even met Dave. I decided to catch my followers up on what's been going on.

Right when I was about to respond to one of the comments we heard the woman call for Kairi, Brooke said she'll sit in the waiting room while Dave and I went to the back. When we made it back there they weighed Kai and she was the average weight so that was good cause all her ass wanted to do was eat. "What's her diet been like?" the nurse asked checking her heartbeat.
"Recently she's been eating table food such as mashed potatoes and gravy but she's still breast feeding and the jars of baby food."
She nodded in approval,"are you guys trying to wean her off the boob?"
"No not really, just expanding what she eats so she won't need as much. Like in the morning we do a bottle and baby food and for the rest of the day table food but before she goes to bed at night she gets a bottle." I looked over at Kai who was now trying to eat up the paper on the examination table. Dave was holding her up and talking baby talk to her. She nodded writing everything down and she said she'll be back with the needles. Dave's head shot up, "She's getting shots?" I nodded replying with a simple yes. I knew he wasn't feeling it cause he started to look at her as if he was sad. "She'll be fine." I said chuckling at him. "Shittin me? She better be or that nurse gone have to catch these hands." I laughed cause I knew he was deadass but I hoped he didn't act crazy. Once she returned and started prepping I leaned over Kairi holding her hands while talking to her. Meanwhile Dave kissed on her feet to distract her from what was about to happen. The nurse stuck the needle in her thigh and Kai puckered her lips indicating that she was indeed about to cry. When let out the cry I tried to soothe her and when the nurse put a bandage on it, Dave quickly picked her up kissing on her forehead calming her down. It was cute but at the same time he was mugging the shit out of the nurse who was now leaving out the room. "They done stuck my baby, why they do that to you?" he said calming her down. Her face was wet from the crying she just did but I managed to get a baby wipe out and wipe her face, she laid her head on her dads shoulder and looked at me with this mug. "Kairi don't do that, you look just like Dave." I laughed at her mugging me. He chuckled and handed her to me while he grabbed the diaper bag and her carseat. Once we were finished we met back up with Brooke and dropped her off. She said she had something to do and Dave wanted to go out to eat. Once we made it to the little diner, I held Kairi in my lap and attempted to eat the food I ordered. Dave was looking at me as if he had something he wanted to say. I paid it no mind until he blurted out,"he's not mines. I took the test and it came out negative." I looked up at him with an unreadable expression, I didn't know how to feel. It really didn't change how I felt about the situation at hand, I've come to accept that me and him just aren't meant to be. He wants to live this fast reckless life and I don't. I have a child who's looking up to me so there isn't room for mistakes. I simply nodded and continued to eat my food. "You don't have nothing to say?" he asked with an eyebrow raised.

Dave

"What do you want me to say? Oh wow I'm happy the kid isn't yours now let's play house? Dave we just need to accept the fact that it's over between us. It's clear that we both want different things, so why can't we leave this relationship in the past?" she asked shifting Kairi to her other leg.
"No Ry we want the same things, I want the big house with kids and eventually a wife. I wanna be the man I should've been from jump, I'm sorry forreal. Can we just start over, no lies no foul shit." I asked wit pleading eyes. Never in my 28 years of living would I have thought I'd be begging for somebody's forgiveness. She sighed,"Okay but we're gonna take things slow, and we're going to see a counselor. It's not gonna be easy but I'm willing to give it another try, but if you fuck up again I'm done." I knew she was serious so I knew it wasn't gonna be anymore fuck ups. "You have my word." I said as she continued to eat, Kairi kept sticking her hands in our food so we just got her a side of fries so she chewed on them the best way she could. I was now in the beginning steps of getting my family back.
