    “Class, I have an announcement.”

The entirety of class 1-A looked towards the front of the room, curious as to what Aizawa was going to say.

“As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Todoroki isn’t with us today. We have been informed that he will not be returning for some time. The exact number of days is still to be determined.”

Midoriya raised his hand, “Why though, Sensei?”

“I’m getting to that. This morning Endeavor came to us and explained everything. He gave me permission to share this information with everyone, so I thought it would be best. Todoroki is currently in a mental health hospital, and will be for some time now.”

It was as if all the air was sucked out of the room. Everyone was dead silent from shock.

    No… he can’t be there…! He’s fine! Nothing’s wrong with him! So…

“Why?” Midoriya spoke out, his voice ringing throughout the silent classroom.

“According to Endeavor, he had attempted suicide, so he’s there to become stable. The hospital has also diagnosed with Bipolar 1, so they’re going to need to work with him to help him out with that.”

    No…

    No, Todoroki wouldn’t do that!

Todoroki’s okay! He would never do that!

    Right...?

Midoriya started to breathe faster, letting his thoughts consume him.

No, no, no, nononononono, he’s okay!

“HE’S OKAY!” Midoriya yelled, breaking the silence that had fallen upon the class.

“Midoriya! Please don’t shout!” Iida stood up and motioned towards him, “We’re in class!”

Midoriya didn’t respond, but quickly stood up and bolted out of the class. He ran and kept running, not even stopping whenever he ran by All Might. Tears began to form in his eyes, but he didn’t stop.

He ran until he could no more, and once he did, he found himself stopping to catch his breath. He looked to see where he was, and all he saw was the ocean. He breathed in and out, timing his breath with the splash of the waves, trying to calm himself down.

    It didn’t work.

Midoriya collapsed to his knees, sobbing.

    He’s okay, he’s okay, he’s okay, he’s okay, he’s okay…!

He kept on repeating to himself, trying to convince him otherwise, but it only made him worse.

He hugged himself, tears falling into the sand, turning the pure white sand gray. After what seemed like an eternity, he sat up, his heart pounding. His breath hitched, and he let out a cry. Not a cry of sadness, no, but a cry for help. A cry for someone to come and console him. A cry for Todoroki to be okay, a cry for his crush to come and hug him, telling him it’ll be alright.

    He’s okay…. He’s okay…..

    Midoriya got up and hiccuped.

    I need to see him…

He looked out into the vast ocean, looking past the deep blue of the horizon.

I’m going to go see him. I need to. For my own sanity.

He knew that thought was selfish, but he didn’t care. He needed to see Todoroki, to make sure he’s okay.

Midoriya looked up into the sky, squinting from the glare of the sun.

    I’m coming, Todoroki.

-

“Aizawa-Sensei, what do you mean, he’s in a mental hospital? Todoroki doesn’t seem like the kind to need to go there.”

Bakugo went up to Aizawa after school, too perplexed to be as rude as normal.

“I mean, Todoroki needs help in this time of his life right now. Some people don’t always show that they’re troubled.”

Bakugo looked at him, purely stumped. Todoroki never showed any signs of anything, so why is he in a hospital? And why did he commit?? His life is perfect, isn’t it? His dad is the #2 hero, they’re rich, and he has one of the most powerful quirks in the entire school.

So why did he attempt suicide?

“Okay now, Bakugo. You need to go. School’s over.”

“Right… okay.” Bakugo trailed off, too confused and in thought to properly react.

Aizawa sighed, “If you need to, the visiting hours for the hospital are 3-7 tomorrow, since it’s a Saturday. But if you need to immediately see him, which I’m not sure is the best idea, you can go from 4-5 today. Now get out, school’s over.”

    “Okay. Thank you, Sensei.”

I need to see him. I need answers.

-

Midoriya walked into the waiting room, the automatic doors granting him access. He walked over to the front desk, looking around the room. It was mostly empty except for an old lady in the corner, and what appeared to be someone in their late 30s in a chair close to the door.

Next to the reception desk there was a large wooden double door with an alarm system above it. There was a button on the left of it that was connected to a switch next to the receptioner’s computer.

“Um... hello? I’m here to visit a new patient. His name is Todoroki. Shoto Todoroki.”

“Ah! Yes!” the lady behind the desk spoke, “He arrived earlier today. He’s in Unit 3 to the left. They’re in quiet time right now, so nobody should be out except the nurses. Make sure to tell them who you are and why you’re here, then they’ll show you where he is”

    “Okay! Thank you!”

She handed him a visitor pass and allowed him access through the door.

Following the lady’s instructions, Midoriya took a sharp turn left, then pressed a button that allowed him inside of Unit 3. He walked up to a nurse and explained why he was there.

“Um, ma’am? Sorry to bother, but my name is Izuku Midoriya,” he showed her his visitor pass, “I’m here to see Shoto Todoroki. Can you please take me to him?”

“Oh! Yes, of course,” the nurse responded cheerely, “But I’ve got to warn you - he’s got another visitor right now, so you may have to wait.”

The nurse pointed to a room several doors down, “He’s in there.”

“Thank you!” Midoriya started down the hallway, looking at the room numbers.

Once he got to Todoroki’s, he knocked three times gently on the hardwood. The door swung open, revealing Todoroki and,

    “Kacchan?!”
