The room wasn’t very big, just big enough to accommodate four chairs around a small table. The room was brightly lit and all the walls were painted white. Besides that it was bare of anything and didn’t show any signs of life, aside from the two boys in there emitting dangerous energy.

The sight that greeted Midoriya was Todoroki with a troubled look, gazing at the floor. It didn’t seem like he was happy with Bakugou being here and decided to not pay Bakugou any mind to show his displeasure. Bakugou had a scowl on his face and had his eyebrows furrowed, frustrated at the lack of attention he was being given. He face shifted into a more hostile look when he looked up at Midoriya.

“What are you doing here, shity Deku!?” Bakugou barked.

Midoriya flinched at his volume. “I-I came to see how Todoroki-kun is doing,” he responded glancing at Todoroki. He wanted to make sure he was doing well. The thought of not being being able to help his friend when he needed it had been weighing down on his mind all day. His heart felt heavy and he knew the feeling wasn’t going to go away until he visited Todoroki. Bakugou being here was an unexpected surprise, but it made him feel a bit better knowing that he was also concerned.

“Did you come to do the same Kacchan?” Midoriya asked.

“That’s none of your business,” Bakugou responded, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Todoroki finally turned looked up at his uninvited guests. He had dark circles under his slightly swollen eyes and his face looked pale. His normally neat hair was ruffled and messy. He stared up at them and his eyes looked so tired and defeated. But that look abruptly changed.

“My well being isn’t any of your business,” Todoroki coldly said. His glared at them, and his sudden hostility shocked them into silence. But not for long. Bakugou wasn’t one to stay silent.

“Whatd’ya mean it’s none of our business?” Bakugou walked up to him. His eyes glimpsed over him,“You look like shit.”

“That’s none of your concern,” Todoroki said quickly, looking away.

“We just want to make sure you’re okay Todoroki-kun,” Midoriya said quietly, fiddling with his fingers.

“While I appreciate it, I don’t have the answer you want.” Todoroki sighed, “I’m not okay, and right now I don’t feel like I will ever be.”

“Well that’s a lot of bull,” Bakugou shot out. “What do you have to worry about in YOUR LIFE??” He continued, “Isn’t your life perfect!? Son of the Number 2 Hero, a rich family, a powerful quirk, what could you possibly need to worry about?”

“Are feeling sorry for yourself Half-and-half?” Bakugou had his chin raised up and was staring at Todoroki with disdain. “For living an ideal life?” He looked directly into Todoroki’s eyes, “If that’s it, you need to get over yourself.”

Todoroki gaped at him wordlessly. “I-” he trailed off. He went back to silently looking at the floor. But that was the quiet before a storm. He looked up with a furious expression and blew up, enraged, “What would you know?!” His eyes were burning, “YOU don’t know what my life is like!” He knocked some chairs over in his rage. “YOUR father doesn’t run you ragged every day in training!” he pushed Bakugou. “YOUR mom isn’t in mental hospital because your father drove her crazy!!” He backed away to a wall, distancing himself as much as possible from him. “You’re not the one who couldn’t save her,” he continued more quietly, his voice cracking and he held back his tears.

Todoroki looked down at his arms and his eyes widened when he saw his left arm was covered in flames. His quirk had activated at some point in his emotional outburst. His fight seemed to drain out of him.

Todoroki became silent and slid down against a wall. His let his tears go and broke down crying. “I already said my goodbyes, but now I don’t even get to leave.” He looked at his palm and whispered, “I couldn’t even manage a simple task like dying, why am I even trying to become a hero?”

“I can’t even save myself,” he hugged his knees to his body. “How am I supposed to save anybody else.”

Midoriya had tears sliding down his face, and his hand covered his mouth to muffle his crying. Bakugou looked down at the floor guilt in his eyes, but not any regret.

“Todoroki-kun,” Midoriya started but he was interrupted.

“Please just leave,” Todoroki covered his eyes with his hands.

“But-”

“LEAVE!!” Todoroki sprung back up again.

The door burst open, “What the hell is all this racket?!”
