A New Beginning (Avengers Fanfiction)

Chapter Four

The heroes travelled through the quantum realm, each pair going into a different portal until they reached their destination.

2016, The senctrum

Stephen and Wong arrived at the Senctrum, they waited behind a wall and watched as Wong and Stephen from 2016 excited through the gate.

After they made sure that no one was in sight, they sneaked in and snatched the Eye of Agamotto. Their mission was the easiest one.

"Alright, let's get out of here," Wong said.

The sorcerers clicked on their screen once again, and the suits formed around them. They travelled back to their time. Stephen kept the stone with him and he and Wong entered the lab. they sat in there and waited for the others.

2014, Xandar

Groot and Rocket had successfully sneaked into the Nova Corpse base. Now they were standing in front of the room that held the Orb.

"Alright, Put this on." Rocket whispered, handing Groot a gas mask. They put on the mask and Rocket kicked down the door, throwing in a sleeping gas bomb.

The bomb exploded, and all the guards fell on the floor unconscious. The two stepped closer to the case and opened it. Rocket took the Orb and put it in his bag.

"Let's go, before somebody sees us." He said. His back was facing the door; Groot looked behind Rocket and pointed at the door.
"I am Groot." He said.

"What do you mean they are behind-" He was interrupted when a guard pointed his gun at them.

"Stand down!" The guard commanded.

"You gotta be kidding me." Rocket mumbled.

2015, Hydra Base

Clint and Wanda were currently watching the fight between the Avengers and Hydra agents, waiting for the right moment to sneak in the building.

They watched as Thor shot off into the sky, and heard Steve mumble under his breath, "That's not going away any time soon."

Clint signalled for Wanda to follow him. They sneaked in and followed Tony to where the sceptre was hidden.

They hid again behind a wall at the entrance as Tony took down all the soldiers with a burst of disabling fire from his shoulder guns. He nodded, surveying what he had done. "Good talk."

Most of the soldiers weren't in any shape to reply, but one of them groaned. "No, it wasn't."

Grinning, Tony moved deeper into the fortress, with Clint and Wanda quietly following behind him.

Tony was looking around at the computer terminal. "He's got to be hiding more than data." He said out loud. "Jarvis, give me an IR scan."

"The wall to your left, " Jarvis said. "I'm reading steel reinforcement...and an air current."

Tony looked more closely. There was a tiny line in the wall. He pressed on the wall with his fingertips, "Please be a secret door, please be a secret door..."
And with a click, the door slid aside.
"Yay," Tony said.

Clint and Wanda looked at what Tony was doing, they were quite impressed with what he just did. They saw him walk further into the hidden lab and once he was in front of the sceptre, Wanda (from 2015) came behind him and played with his mind.

Wanda (from 2023) facepalmed. "I forgot about this part. We're gonna have to wait for...me...to get out." She whispered to Clint.

2013, London

"Finally!" Sam shouted, as they finally arrived at their destination.

Thor gave them a vague location of The Aether. They had been looking for the right place for over an hour. Now, they stood in front of the rock that held the red liquid.

"How are we supposed to take this thing out?" Bucky asked.

"Thor said that his girlfriend touched the stone and the Aether got sucked into her body."

They both stared at the rock, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, without any warning, Sam touched the stone.

"Are you crazy?!" Bucky yelled at him.

"What? There was no other way to get this thing out!" Sam objected.

He felt a weird surge of energy in his body, and he felt dizzy. Once the feeling disappeared, he stumbled a bit, his head spinning.

"Are you okay?" Bucky asked him, supporting him.

"Yeah, yeah. Just a bit dizzy. Let's go back."

Their suits formed around them, and they travelled back to their timeline. They appeared above the time machine and Sam explained to Harley and Hulk what happened. They went to the lab and met Doctor Strange and Wong there.

"How long have you guys been sitting here?" Bucky asked them.

Strange shrugged, "For a while."

"Alright, Mister arrogant, did you get the time stone?" Sam asked him.

Stephen glared at him and pointed towards the Eye of Agamotto that was sitting in front of them on the table.

"What about you? Did you get the reality stone?" Wong asked them.

"This idiot over here, " Bucky said, pointing at Sam, "Touched the rock that held the Aether. And now it's inside of his body."

Stephen and Wong gave him the 'are you stupid' look. Sam huffed out in annoyance, "don't give me that look! There was no other way!" He said, crossing his arms over his chest and sitting down on one of the chairs.

Bucky sighed, shaking his head and sitting down on the chair between Stephen and Sam.

2014, Xandar

Rocket and Groot were now panting in a room surrounded by unconscious soldiers. They knocked out all the Nova Corpse soldiers.

"Let's go, we don't have much time," Rocket told Groot. They stood up straight and started working on their suits.

"You are not going anywhere." A female voice said from behind them. They turned around and found the director of The Nova Corpse standing in a professional manner, with her arms behind her back.

"Do not worry, I am not going to hurt you, I trust you. So, I am going to let you do what you have to do. But we are going to need that Orb back later." She continued.

Rocket and Groot nodded in understanding, disappearing and travelling back to their timeline.

They arrived at Stark's backyard, "Hey, kid," Rocket called out for Harley, holding up the orb. Harley took it from him and put it in a safe case.

Rocket and Groot walked to Tony's lab. "You're late," Sam said.

"Yeah well, you didn't have a whole force of soldiers to fight." Rocket said.

"By the way, Rocket, do you have something to suck out the Aether from Sam's body?" Bucky asked him.

Rocket and Groot, also, gave him the 'are you stupid' look. Sam sighed and slouched in his seat.

Rocket shook his head, getting the same needle he used to get the Aether out of Jane the first time. He walked closer to Sam and stepped him with the needle. "Ow! Watch it, Rabbit!" Sam yelled at him, flinching away when he got stapped. "I'm sucking it out. Don't move." Rocket told him. He pulled out the needle and kept it in his bag.

Groot and Rocket took their seats on the couches and waited for the other heroes to arrive from their quests.
