As Eris basically grinds her ass on me like every other couple at the party, something in me snapped.
Grabbing her gently by the waist, I spin her around so we can look at each other.
"What's wrong?" She asks, concern apparent on her facial features, but lacking in her eyes - as always.
My drunk brain is in control at this point, with no sober thoughts present to sway me from doing something morally wrong.
"Absolutely nothing," I answer, a smile forming on my mouth as I lean in.
When our lips finally connect, it's like fireworks are going off in my body. So I kiss her as though it's my last day to live, as though her breath is oxygen and I'll die without it.
Her lips kiss me back with excitement that matches mine.
If she had rejected me, my ego would be permanently bruised.
My hands find their way to her face and hair as I attempt to get as close as possible to this grey-eyed enigma.
"What about your reputation?" I inquire in between our kisses.
"Screw the reputation," she replies swiftly - shutting me up at the same time as we kiss with even more passion than before.
While my hands stay innocent, hers don't. They travel down while she then hooks them through the belt loops in my pants.
With every passing second, the kiss becomes more intense.
Gasping for air, I pull away from her; only for her to kiss down my neck. My body temperature heats up, and there's no doubt my skin is going to be flushed pink after this.
She gets slightly taller as she stands on her tippy toes, and I feel her breath against my ear as she whispers:
"We should take this somewhere else."
Fuck yes, we should.
I nod as she grabs my hand, but the second I go to take a step Kat's voice travels over the music and to my ears.
Are you kidding me? What a cockblock.
Oh, wait. No, she can't know about this. Even if what Eris said about her having a crush on Eris isn't true, she'll be pissed if I hook up with the only friend that's a girl she's ever had beside Elena.
"Kat's coming!" I quickly affirm for Eris's ears only.
"What did you just say?" Astonishment is clear on her face as she instantly turns to face me.
"She's coming, she's coming, she's coming. Shit, start dancing: only PG-13!" I rush out, not loud enough for the approaching blonde to hear us as we dance without grinding all over each other, like before.
"Hey, guys!" She greeted innocently as our eyes clicked.
My eyes and mind decide that literally everything else besides this girl is more interesting. No matter how hard I try, I couldn't hold eye contact.
I take deep breaths, circulating air in and out of my lungs that refuse to work.
"Why are your faces red?" My best friend shouts over the blaring music in the room.
The only thing streaming through my body becomes guilt: any trace of lust I had for Eris gone.
She can never know. She'd be mad at me for at least the rest of the semester if I took away a friend of hers.
My mouth makes a stuttering noise no one else can hear because of how quiet I am from the shock as I try to conjure a lie.
There's no reasonable explanation for having a red face, especially at a party. There just isn't. My drunk brain tells me.
