Heart on my sleeve
A phrase I thought didn't define me
But that's what I do
Every time I meet someone new
I show my best self
Put my best foot ahead
Give my all in a moments span
Figure a person out
Expect them to treat me the way I treat them
Then get disheartened when they don't do the same
And disappear in thin air from the persons life
Without any warning or good bye
I say I do this to save my self
From pain that I've already beared
For I'm but a fool to think people won't see
My hands drenched in red from the stabs on my sleeve
