"Have the police been at your door too?" I rather obliviously asked Lucius after raising my umbrella to protect myself from the rain.

"Far too much," he answered blankly, turning to walk. I frowned, before scurrying behind him to catch up. "Do you want me to hold that for you?" He motioned to my umbrella, I guess he noticed that due to the breeze the umbrella was practically carrying me.

"As it happens, my arms are working pretty well today, so I'll be alright, thank you." I sarcastically responded as if sarcasm was just my original language. Lucius forced a small smile, but deep down definitely wasn't the best at identifying sarcasm half of the time. That was just obvious. We continued to walk in an awkward silence until Lucius turned and stopped at a gate. I excepted something more grand to say the least. His house looked identical to mine. Since he studied at a private school, I'd thought that like most of the other students, he was part of a wealthy family. Although I only had the chance to study there because Talia worked her ass off to give me a better life, perhaps it was the same for Lucius. Without saying anything, Lucius continued up the pathway to his front door, I followed closely behind him with a sense of unease. He unlocked the door and strode in.

Oh, I thought to myself, rather surprised with the appearance of the house. It was just normal, similar to mine, neat and tidy and pretty cosy looking. Very warm, though. It was deathly quiet, so I doubted anyone else was in. Lucius glanced at me, before heading up the staircase and encouraging me to follow, which I did. I held my hands up slightly to my chest, not intentionally trying to get into a defensive position but it was better to be cautious. "Is your mom at work or something?" I asked meekly, taking in my surroundings.

"My mom is dead." Lucius said blankly, shocking me slightly but not entirely as it was a familiar and relatable feeling.

"Oh."

"I killed her." I froze up and stopped completely in my tracks, staring at Lucius with fear as he casually opened his bedroom door and looked at me. He waited for a few moments expectantly. "You wanted answers, didn't you?" He said with a half smile. That smile made him look almost sadistic, like he found pride in the fact that he was a murderer. I should be disgusted, I thought to myself, why am I not horrified? Why am I enticed?
